I'm in the process of assembling some Deathwatch figures to paint up. I've buit up a large bits box over the years with plenty of bits from various SM chapters.

I plan to assemble some of the Deathwatch using robes from the Dark Angel and Black Templars kits, so I was wondering what colour to paint them?

As an example, should I paint the Black Templar tabard black or keep it a more BT-focused white?

I don't know too much about the fluff to be honest, but I'd like to stick to any "rules" (in terms of colour scheme) if I can.

I'd consider the tabard a part of the originating chapter iconography and paint it white with the cross in black.

Of course, conversely, if you wanted it more Inquisition-styled, you'd go Black with a Red cross, as often Red is used as an accent in some of the Inquisition stuff.

Outer Space, Apparently

The only heraldry members of the Deathwatch keep is on their right shoulder pad; Red would be the ideal colour taking that into account

G.A - Should've called myself Ghost Ark

Makeup Whiskers? This is War Paint!

True.. red tabard with black cross could look neat too.
