So I was painting the base for my Ringwraith on fell-beast. I decided to use Secret Weapon Miniatures weathering powders (earth variety) on the earth portion of the base between rocks. I used the Secret Weapon Miniatures fixative to lock it down. This fixative is an enamel medium. I had already base coated the base with a brown acrylic. The result was a sheen, wherever the fixative dried. A nearly gloss finish strong enough to disrupt the earth effect. I ended up covering it with static grass. Did I do something wrong with this? Is there an alternative fixative that will provide a matte finish?
