Hey all,
Looking to dust off da boyz sometime soon and was considering a list that was flame weapon themed for casual play. Just thought I'd see what the general concensus on it was, or if anyone else has tried something like it. Here's the list:

Big Mek: kombi-skorcha , big choppa, 'eavy armor and cybork body

x7 Burnas , Trukk w/ red paint job
x7 Burnas , Trukk w/ red paint job

x14 Boyz, big shoota
x13 Boyz, big shoota

Burna Bommer

Deff Dread, 2 DCCW, 2 scorcha

I like the list in general, but not sure about the HQ. I'd have a total of 67pts to use if I swapped out for a different HQ, but that doesn't leave too many options. Anyways, whatcha think?

Thanks!
-Z

At my desk

I barely ever play Orks competitively (heck, I run a list with six flyers) but for a 750 points list this doesn't look awful.

My only criticism is you're a touch lacking in anti-tank. Drop a few Boyz for some Mek Gunz (take Kannons, they're cheap and do the job at BS3).

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

I'm not a big fan of the fact your list comes in 3 waves. You're on the wrong side of a tower defense game haha. I'm a speed kinda guy so I'd go for mobility, and fire in every unit. I'm a bit of a competitive player, so I like lots of mininmum sized units. So season to your own taste.

CAD

HQ
Big Mek - 90
-Da finkin Kap, Killsaw, Cybork Body, Kombi-Skorcha

Troops 280
Boyz -140
-Nob, PK, BP, Kombi-Skorcha
-Trukk, Rokkit

Boyz -140
-Nob, PK, BP, Kombi-Skorcha
-Trukk, Rokkit

Elites 345
Burna Boyz - 115
-Trukk, RR, Rokkit

Burna Boyz - 115
-Trukk, RR, Rokkit

Burna Boyz - 115
-Trukk, RR, Rokkit

Fast Attack
Warbuggy - 35
-Skorcha

750

Made a tiny compromise, breaking one of my own rules taking the RRs away from the trukk boyz to make sure your Warlord has a skorcha too. Finkin' Kap will be great here. The potential to give ALL your burna boyz infiltrate for a turn 1 BBQ is too good to pass up, so roll twice on strat traits.

If you don't mind fortifcations, prometheus relay pipes give you a decent cover save and turn your flamer weapons into heavy torrent weapons, so a min unit of burnas suddenly is throwing out 5x torrents holy gak.

E: Don't forget, you can tank shock in the movement phase to force an enemy to bunch together real tight before dropping 5x templates on them in the next phase. Ouch.

I'd take skorcha buggies instead of the flyer and some mek gunz instead of the deff dread. After all it's a meks army so mek gunz fit the theme anyway

Have you thinked looted wagons? Open topped rhino at 37 points and can have 0-3 skorchas 5 pts apiece. You can found it datasheet at GW site. Would fit theme and they have transport capasity of 12.

Using slip's list above, you could drop Da Finkin' Kap or Killsaw and all trukks from burna boys and modifie it to this:

CAD

HQ
Big Mek - 65
- Da Finkin' Kap, Big Choppa, Cybork Body, Kombi-Skorcha

Heavy Support
Looted Wagon - 47
Skorcha x2

Looted Wagon - 47
Skorcha x2

Looted Wagon - 47
Skorcha x2

And that left you with 16 points to use. Like giving boys trukks red paint jobs and bosspole or 'eavy armour to bik mek.

Victory isn't important, but great mounds of bloody skulls. From your side, if not enemy's...

That is a killer idea. The points are a bit off tho. You have to knock down the Big Mek a bit more to get the 36 points to cover the trukk/wagon difference. The Kap can be ditched if you go wagons tho. The only reason the trukks can infiltrate is because they're dedicated transports. But that's only one trick of the trade. There's vehicles in the dread mob list that can take the supa-skorcha, a S6 AP3 template with is just grotesque.

Anyway, Big Mek would look something like:

Big Mek
-'Eavy Armour, Cybork Body, Kombi-Skorcha

And with the wagons comes to 750.

E:Swapped big choppa for cybork. S5 still wounds MEQs on a 3+, but cybork helps deny slay the warlord.
