So, while these Blightkings aren't the first models I've been working on since I've gotten back into the swing of things (I ended up finishing a small Killteam's worth of some old Krieg that were lying around), they are the first new models I've worked on in a while, and they have been absolutely fantastic fun to paint.

The metallics were done as an attempt at TMM, blasted with layers upon layers of matte coat to bring it all together. Results are a bit mixed, depending on the model, but overall I think I'm moving in a good direction with it. The skin was the most fun element to work with on each model, with my goal to make the skin tones slightly different for each one. I wanted them to look like they'd been assembled from men from all over the Chaos wastes, as their fluff implies. Lastly, the Gore was also really fun to work with, using some Tamiya Clear Red and E6000 glue (we don't get the UHU stuff here in Canada).

The idea with the basing was to evoke the idea that the plantlife around them was dying around them with every step they put forward. It could use a little work, but I'd like to keep things simple for now.

Sorry about the potato quality, my phone is from the Old World.

C&C more than welcome.

Armageddon

The eyeball stomach is hilarious, I love it.

Wow! I had to look pretty closely, but that paintjob is lovely! Those greys are very well blended, and the grease/grime/blood effects are judiciously applied!

That said, you probably won't get much of a reaction to those pictures because the colors in the photo are very subdued, and look almost pastel (which is probably not what the actual miniatures look like in person). Perhaps you could try some different lighting? Or simply a full-field white paper background?

It's more to do with my phone being a near-ancient piece of crap. I'll probably get a new one sometime later this month, but for now, there's not a lot I can do to help the matter.
