Hi guys,
Here is a little picture showing my death guard work in progress. Anyone have any ideas to make them pop more? What should I do with the bases?

Cheers.

Toxic bases, or some battlefield mud bases would look good as well.

Highlight the bronze more. maybe add some verdigris.
Add some red - just the odd small thing like part of the bolter mags, the rivets on the pads or maybe some of the power cables.
I would also add more highlights to the face guards - the head will always be the focal point of a model weather it has a face or not. These are a bit too dull / monochromatic IMO.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

What other products (non-GW) are like, or do the same thing as the Stirland Battlemire?

The Imperium of Man: White Scars - 1200, Raven Guard - 110 pts, Imperium - 550 pts

Oh yes I will try Duncans technique for the bases, hopefully they don't blend in too much with it.

I'm digging the paint scheme. They remind me of my own Death Guard.

I went with mud for my bases. Here's a look at them. https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/705938.page I don't know if the toxic bases will go that well with the models. Maybe do one up and see what it will look like before you do the whole army.

I agree with highlighting the bronze and metallic areas a little. Just don't over do it. Maybe a little OSL highlight on the armor too. Just a little.
