Dear Guard players,

My friend plays a plague marine centric army and I am finding it very hard to take him on.

What kills plague marines dead?

This probably belongs in tactics. But as a fellow Death Guard player...

Take out his rhinos and just force him to foot slog everywhere. Outside of bikers and spawn, he probably does not have much mobility. Outside of AP3 weaponry, you will kill literally nothing, even with a high volume of shots.

Bog his bikes down in CC to keep him away from objectives (if possible). I usually begin to suffer when my army can't get anywhere to do anything.

I concur. I play DG as well and rhinos get me where I need to go. I rarely play the plague marines though. If he's running infantry find S10 weapons to instant death them. Also if he's using havocs, get them first. If he's using mauler fiends keep them away. Those must die first.

As an DG player also What concerns me is volume of fire. lasguns can still wound T5. Aside from the AP3 and such sheer amount of shooting will be your friend. Even in close combat, he can throw out enough hits to eventually kill your models. Ive seen guardsmen make decent tarpits.

Actually, you will average 54 lasgun shots (from normal guardsmen) to 1 dead plague marine (or any other T5-6 model with a 3+ armour save and 5+FNP). This makes mass bodies a hilariously bad solution. Try to take heavy ordnance and pack in the plasma/lascannons. S10 is especially valuable.
