I am starting an AM army, but when I looked through the codex, since it hasn't changed for 7th ed., the models required to form a unit and each unit's point cost aren't listed with the unit. Is there somewhere this is mentioned in the codex?

Is this the digital or the paper version, and is an English codex?

I can't speak for the digital, but the English paper version follows its own goofy format which is described in detail page 88.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Is it the Skitarii or the Cult Mechanicus book you're looking at?

The codex is in English, but it's digital.

It's neither Skitarii or Cult Mechanicus, it's Astra Militarum.

Could you perhaps post a picture of the cover?

It's the old style lists. You get an entry with fluff stats and special rules, then a bit of pictures. After those you get your army list, including options, points , wargear, and battlefield roles.
