The idea of deathwatch is an interesting one, but a entirely black army is quite dull.
Are there examples or paint schemes that have more colour ?

They are the black ops kill teams of the imperium. Black armor silver/stone left arm. often original chapter right shoulder.

Yes this I know but, there is a big difference between black except the shoulder pads and 1 arm, and black as an important part of their heraldry. So my question is I guess, how black does their armour have to be ?

I've never seen them in anything other than full black armour (aside from aforementioned arm and shoulder pad)

I know three people with Deathwatch armies and they each look pretty different.
Mine are primer black with silver wash, silver, gunmetal and gold on the left pauldron and arm and the right pauldron and knee have block with Freestyle insignias.
One of the guys who lives in Sunny Queensland has Negroid Black with pinpoint highlights, chainmail and ink for the left pauldron and arm and metalic colours and stencil spray on the right.
The last guy lives in Sydney and actually based them in white then drybrushed the black on the left arm and pauldron were based black and drybrushed silver the right knees all have gold base with red gem gloss and the right pauldrons are black based with gold sprayed over stencils.
