Okay so I just completed my Reclamation Legion and I'm trying to work towards a 1000 point Decurion

Rec Legion:

Overlord - 80
2 units of 10 Warriors - 260
1 unit Immortals - 85
Ghost Ark for 1 warrior unit - 105
Tomb Blades with TL Gauss and Shield vanes and nebs - 66
596 total

Where do I go from here? I'm thinking one of two ways...

I also have a Stalker complete (125) and 6 bases of Scarabs (120)

Since I have the Stalker all ready for the table should I get prets and complete a Judicator Battalion to clinch Decurion?
Above Rec Legion - 596
Stalker - 125
10 Prets - 280
1001 total

OR

Do I leave the stalker aside and go for a beefier OL + Lychguard and Deathmarks for Decurion?
Above Rec Legion - 596
1 unit Deathmarks - 90
10 Lychguard - 250
Warscythe - 20
Veil of D - 25
981 total

Decisions decisions, anyone have an opinion?

Out of my Mind

Prepare to get bombarded with 'Get a Harvest Instead' comments...

Decurions are a bit rough at 1k because they're pretty restrictive when you try to squeeze everything in. Around the 1k mark you should start looking at including some sort of Assault element in your lists, especially if you're going to run a minimum Rec. Legion. That's where Wraiths come in, as they're really good at stalling your opponents assaults. With the point sink required to get them into a Decurion, you don't really have much left to invest in the shooting necessary to make much use of that.

Both of your choices are decent, but also have their drawbacks. I like the first option because you'll have the Praetorians, which are T5, Fearless, and move very similar to Wraiths. The tricky unit there is the Stalker. The +BS doesn't apply to vehicles, so the Ghost Ark (and possibly the Warriors inside), won't benefit from that. However, you still need other vehicles so that your Stalker isn't a fire magnets for all of your opponents dedicated AT. With only the one, you won't really be able to use the Formation bonus in some games.

The second choice does give you some flexibility on points which makes it seem a little less restrictive. Lychguard require probably the most aggressive tactics out of all the assault units because they're the slowest. I see that you're attempting by taking the Veil but learning to put them where your opponent has to deal with them over going after the other units is difficult to get right without lots and f practice. Deathmarks are too situational for me, but they're a fun unit when they work.

Honestly, I'd steer clear of a Decurion until closer to the 1500 point games, 1250 at the earliest, so you can at least upgrade your OL or try out a few of the Characters. Keep building toward a Decurion, but test out the units without their formation bonuses and see for yourself how good they are before going all out. The Start Collecting box formation is a fantastic way to learn the army up to 1k, and you can still take the Ghost Ark to try it out.

Good Luck and Happy Harvesting.

Indeed, the Canoptek Harvest is too good to leave out.
Wraiths are one of the best cc units in the game and you want them with a RP.
