Looking at putting together a shield company together. Basically going to have a blob of lascannons, blob of autocannons and a blob of flamers/meltas. In terms of support I was mulling over either a custodes squad or psykana division.

Custodes- tough, provides assault back up and vexilla gives fearless and +1 attack to blobs. Only one squad though so possibly limited and vulnerable.

Psykana- using divination to buff blobs (rerolls, rending etc). Big problem is that they are far more squishy!

Which do you think would be better or another alternative?

I don't run the shield, but I do run psykana alot. I mostly use them to spam conjuring deamons to bolster my forces and create fire saturation for my oppoent. To be frank I don't see them being too useful for your strategy though. CCS with Astropaths or just taking a couple psykers will due to better probably.

Never used custodes so I cannot comment on them.
