Hi, a general advise for the orks is to give everyone a transport unless you're using huge mobs (20+ orks), gretchin or lootas. So those nobz, meganobz and burna MUST have a trukk or a BW.

Meganobz min size is three, if you play with two it's a mistake that needs to be fixed, otherwise you need more to use them.

I'd suggest to get (or scratch build) 3-4 trukks so you would have a 1000ish points list to play. Or you can get more boyz and some lootas/mek gunz, but it's easier and cheaper if you go with just some transport to complete your list.

And to use that big mek as a standard meganob for now, once you collect more orks it can be played as what it really is, a big mek, but a min unit of meganobz is really good, especially in small games, so I'd invite you to field it

hey

just from what I've played Lootas seem to do better than burnas - and more is better. I started fielding 5 but that was too small, they just got wiped out too easily, so I'm working on getting more (prolly 15)

I really like deffkoptas as well, and again as it seems with most things orks, more is better. I run about 10 now. Eventually I'm going to use bikes too but they're not built.

I've been playing with more gretchin for objective holding (plus I just think they're hillarious), so I have quite a few now.

Definitely would reiterate trukks though! ramshackles awesome and trukks really help. I run 3 now with one BW. plus in terms of army points, they're pretty cheap!

Anyway just my two cents, I'm still pretty newb too

Good choice in army though

Thanks for all the advice!
Will probably look into the trukks and lottas

The Bully Boyz formation is pretty awesome in low-mid point games, and doesn't take too many models. Meganobz seem to be easy enough to model with some plasticard.

I was just talking about ork units in another thread but you might find it useful so I'll cross post the relevant section.

The units to look at for orks are MANz, tankbustas, warbikers, deffkoptas, lootas, mek gunz (lobba, kmk, sometimes tracktor), trukks, trukkboyz, battle/looted/gun wagons, gorkanuat, and buzzgob's stompa. All the HQs have a place.(Except the named ones.) The two must have relics would be da lucky stikk, and da finkin kap. Notably, a warboss with MA and dls would have 5 s10 ap2 ws6 hatred, shred attacks and a rerollable 2+ armour or potentially invuln/jink save. (To a point on those rerolls, but still it's a pretty good point.) The good formations are Bullyboyz and Blitz brigade, and two CADs are the way to go for your detachment format for extra elite, fast attack, and heavy support slots.

More trucks, and a looted tank.

other then that, get rid of the mega nobs for more mobz of boyz, OR- add in 2 more 3 meganobs, plus the 1 guy you are missing.

Add in more grotz, and vehicles.
