So, since a friend of mine suggested trying Kill Team, I figured I'd work out a potential list.

Simple stuff (Codex MT):

10 scion squad
5 scion squad

200 on the button.

Krak grenades for vehicles, hot shots for everything else. Probably good against marines, and feels good to get 4+ save bodies on the table, but I could imagine anything with high-ish toughness would wreck it.

Alternate lists (Codex AM):

10 Scions
Armoured sentinel
30 spare for upgrades, 2 plasma? 2 melta

10 Scions
2 scout sentinels

I like it; will respond fully later when not at work If I remember!

Sentinels are strong in kill team, but as your only source of heavy weapons bear in mind that they cannot be your specialists. this may not seem like a big deal? but that means no reaping volley, so multiple shot weapons are all having to attack single models, which is MAJOR overkill in a lot of cases

Scout sentinels slightly weaker? but eh? there's now 2 of them. and they have alternate options like Scouting, Infiltrating & Outflanking. very nice!

Higher body count will be rewarding, but be sure to consider your specialists. ignoring the versatility of these abilities will give you a natural handicap.
for example; I like plasma in kill team as its high enough strength to threaten ALL vehicles, low enough AP to ignore ALL armour, and can be Taken on a marine with preferred enemy. no more overheating. just a nearly guaranteed kill per turn he lives.

melta not so much. its cute, but a single shot can be an expensive flaw; and at low range, it's far inferior to the plasma.

Hot-shot volley gun. lets talk salvo. if this guy stands still; that's 5 shots, at AP 3. with reaping volley and a lucky set of dice, this figure can singlehandedly drop a space marines combat squad.

All I got for now, open to discuss?

Cheers for the feedback!

So, basically it looks like either of these:

10 Scions
Armoured sentinel
Either 2 hot shot volleys and and 10 spare for the sentinel, or 2 plasma

8 Scions, 2 volleys
2 scout sentinels
4 spare

5 Scions, hot shot volley gun, plasma gun
3 Scout sentinel

Or, a bit different

Scions, 2 volleys 90
Veterans, autocannon, plasma, 2 flamers, carapace, 110

Scions, 2 volleys 90
Veterans, 3 flamers 75
Scout sentinel 35

okay so each trait can only be taken once buddy; so for infantry, you want a single plasma for the preferred enemy trait, and a single volley gun for reaping volley. if you take a second of either, it can't be with the trait that makes it viable. IE the second plasma would suffer from 'gets hot', and the second volley gun wouldn't be able to 'split fire'
