Hey guys!

I am a long time Death Guard player and I recently got into 30k mech and I am having trouble finding a list that works well. I purchased the Cybernetica Battle Group off the Forge World website since the fluff about the cybernetica is neat. I learned that Cybernetica seems to be Mechanicum on hard mode though, so what do you guys recommend for building a list that fights against a mix of infantry and vehicles but little to no flyers? I'm used to just throwing bodies with my Death Guard and the Mech is certainly much different! Thanks!

I think the lack of opinions given here is because the mechanicum players are all sensitive to just how personal your force ends up being - so I'd say have a look at the taghmata hq options as they can be the basis for your forces functionality.

The archimandrite gives all vehicles IWND for a vehicle heavy list, the lachrimallus allows for a highly amusing returning tech-thrall unit feature and benefits from tech-preist auxilia units dotted around in triaros.

And then of course there's my chosen clan, the Ordo Reductor - we have a bunch of restrictions, but also some nice benefits (walkers in ruin) and a couple of exclusive artillery units.

Have a look at the hq options in the taghmata list and see if any army ideas jump out at you - if you have any Ordo Reductor based questions, i'll be happy to give an opinion!

Get a pair of Vultarax and alot of adsec units for scoring. Consider a unit of thallax or two with photon thrusters.
Bring a knight or 2.

Im serious about the Vultarax tho, it covers air and flare sheild ar 14.

Vultarax are totally unsuitable for what the OP asked.

'little to no flyers' suggests that his meta is familiar with the contemptor-mortis and deredeo dreadnoughts so flying things will go down quickly or get forced to jink.

multiple triaroii are a good start as bodies can hide there and you'll always have uses for them in the long run - i'd suggest two at first.

Also, if you are having kittens over AV14 with flare sheild then put a unit of myrmidon secutors with graviton guns in a triaros for garuanteed destruction by the end of turn two. even if you use GW dice six haywire rolls will end it. unlike a pair of vultarax which have to come on from reserves and hit before haywire rolls can be done.
myrmidon combo points cost: 345 base
Dual vultarax combo points cost: 350 base

Your call OP....

Vultarax give 0 gak's about anti air. They aren't vehicles so can't explode or get velocity locked. They are effectively T8 at all times due to flare shield on all facings and they have an Invulnerable save as well as can regeneration hull points.

They are disgustingly good at killing vehicles especially with right of destruction.

They're strong, but only t7 now, toughness was reduced by 1 in inferno

You can make 'em jink was my point, then it's sixes to hit before haywire rolls.

Bit of a brain-fart there; they're T6 base now, don't have an invuln and have to pay 10 points each for 'blessed autosimulacra'

I did totally forget that he's playing cybernetica so some doubled up firing will improve things.
