Subject: Eldar players... Guardians or Windriders?

Playing in an escalation league right now to learn 40K better as well as collect a new army. Essentially, you start with an Infantry HQ. I've started with an Autarch with Swooping Hawk Wings. The next step in the escalation league is a unit of troops (no restrictions on type of troops, but no transports yet). I'm not sure if I'll be able to play more than 3 Windriders (haven't asked about that yet). Or, I could get a box of Guardians (if my store has them in stock). Right now, it seems the Guardians would work better with the Infantry Autarch. But, I'm curious what you all think.
Thanks

Jetbikes.
Guardians without a transport will struggle. An argument could be made for Dire Avengers, but given that the Autarch will be able to keep up with the Jetbikes (particularly if given Falchoi's Wing), there seems little reason.

I ended up picking up both. We'll eventually be allowed more troop options and I'm sure dedicated transports, so it'll be good to have the Guardians when that time comes.
Thanks for the help!

This is my first time playing Eldar, so I'm curious what all of you Eldar players think... what's the best weapons to use on the Windriders?
Thanks

Alright, as some one that used to run infantry with transports and recently just fielded a windrider host for the first time, windriders with at least 2/3(within squads) scatter lasers, if you have points for the Shrkn cannons on the rest. These guys do work. I fielded three squads of three each squad had 2 scatter lasers and 1 twin linked shrkn, each squad made its points back plus a little extra.
Knowing full well this is an optimized list, i ran this with a dire avenger shrine, it was pretty awesome.

i play eldar, and if your only going to be playing more friendly type games, if you bring a million windriders with scatter lazers, you will lose friends. If your playing high level competative games all the time, windriders are fine than, but smaller start em up type leagues like your talking, id limit it to 1 squad of 3 scatter lazer bikes. Btw, mixing gun types with different ranges as the guy above suggested is not good playing. In his own example of 3 units with 2 scats and 1 shuriken in each squad is not optimal, he would have been better off running 2x3 scatbikes and 1x3 shuriken cannons instead of having mixed ranged in the same squad. Alot of the time you will be shooting you will be finding the third gun is out of range and waste its firepower, and you want to be at max range with windriders.
And as for the guardians, even in a start em up league, are terrible. They are not survivable, and their guns are to short range.
