It's been 10 years since I played my Chaos Space Marines and I can't for the life of me figure out what this guy is. It's an old metal model. Any ideas? Is he just a standard bearer?

He is just an icon bearer. A cool model tho. I have one.

Yes, metal chaos space marine icon bearer. This model would have come in an individual blister pack.

From the chaos space marine collector's guide, page 20:
Part number 9947010202401. Price £3.
The banner is the 'flesh banner' 9947010202402, price £2.

That model is from 2nd edition, early-mid 90s. Lovely old sculpt.

I just finished building my first squad of plastic Chaos Space Marines. I know that is an older metal model, but several of the plastic parts are pretty much spot on with that one. The head and torso are there and one of the backpacks probably matches pretty close. I don't think you could have a bolt pistol in the left hand and the standard can't be in the right though. Also, none of the standards really come close to the above model.

It's just an icon bearer, but one of the fancier old metal ones. There were several different icon types sold with the same marine pose. I have one with Tzeentch's blasted banner. I started playing around the end of 4th and I found one of these guys in a local hobby shop in a blister pack, gathering dust.
