Hello everyone, I have had a long time away from the game, and getting back in..I have been playing CE: Windrider Host With Scat bikes and 3 Wraithknights. Recently picked up the new Gathering storm book 2 and enjoy it..However I am lost. I only have bikes and Wk's..and Am not sure exactly about the wording of how to build a list with the GS2 book. It says in the listing of units (one of the following) The passage reads plain as day..but reading folks talk online..leads me to believe otherwise. I would like to take my super cheese bike army and throw a Reborn Warhost tag on it.. Or can I not do that? I see the Windrider formation is allowed..and its rules allow extra WK's. The GS2 book does say rules transfer over and such,I am just unsure exactly how to go about making a list. If anyone could cl;ear things up for me I would greatly appreciate it!

First off, a Reborn Warhost requires 1 HQ and 2 Troops choices before you start looking at the formations. After that you can run as many Windrider Hosts as you'd like. Unfortunately you can't take the Wraithconstruct option for a Reborn Warhost like you could for the Craftworld Warhost detachment, you are now limited to only a single Lord of War choice (Wraithknight or Avatar of Ynnead) and/or the Wraithhost formation, which would also require you to run a Spiritseer, Wraithlord and 3 units of Wraithguard to get that Wraithknight.

O ok. So, I could just take the bikes I have and run them as Reborn then. They are still allowed to have other attachments right? I really like the idea of Deep striking Scat bikes that do not scatter lol. I think that is just as good as taking multiple Wraithknights.

The deep striking ones are the Black Guardian Windriders, and those are Elite choices for the Ynnari Warhost.

But you could just take a Jetseer, 2x3 scatbikes and a WK - times three for under 1800 points.
Your army can have multiple detachments, formations etc, you don't have to stop at only 1 Ynnary Warhost.

Bringing 6 units of bikes and 3 WK's will not win you any friends though.

Thats ok, all my friends use the same kinda lists haha

Ok, so If I want black guardians..because I do.. They are a elite option for Reborn lists? I thought they Black stuff was it own detachment?

Black Guardians can either be fielded as their own detachment (1-4 Elites), in which case they have the Eldar Faction (as well as Battle Focus/Ancient Enemy) or they can be taken as Elites in a Reborn Warhost, where they will be both Eldar and Ynnari and lose those rules to gain Strength From Death.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

This doesn't really belong in YMDC.

But... If you're set on using the Reborn Warhost;

You'll have to get some extra Farseers/other HQ choices. Not exactly terrible, but to get a 2nd/3rd LOW, you'll need a whole new Reborn warhost for each one. Doing so means 1HQ and 2Troops to get there.

Or maybe just get some different units and play a more enjoyable army list.

8,000 pts and counting
1,000 points, now painting.
