Hi people. So, just wondering like that, under which Warhammer 40k (not 30k) faction would you like to live and why ?

As me? Obviously the Imperium. Being a human under all the other factions means "disposable pet" at best, "experiment/pain slab/moving target" at worst.

Being born as a member of that faction?
Ork. All day, every day.

Based on their genetic standards of life irks are currently in heaven having a grand ol' time. I'd choose ork knowing I'd have the best chance of dieing happy.

If i was me i would be dead.

i guess i could be a member of genestealer cult. Sure there's the whole mind control and eventually getting devoured thing but until then you get to be a part of the biggest, happiest family around!

Armageddon

Probably a human auxiliary for the tau.

Best case scenario: simple life without being worked to death
Worse case scenario: an inquisitor runs me through with a chainsword

Screw the imperium man, unless I'm like a knight pilot or something then I'm the equivalent of a herd animal. The Emperor can eat my shorts.

If I'm me, Titan pilot, or chaos if I could be indoctrinated etc.
If I'm born into it, I think I'd go chaos being "born" an astartes psyker and being given the gift of tzeentch's blessing!

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

If I could control the path I take (to an extent) probably a human who is eventually indoctranated into the Emperor's children.

If I had no control over my destiny then being a citizen of the tau would probably be the most cushy.

Depends on the control I'd have over my life, and whether I would still be human.

There's a qualitative difference between being the Rogue Trader or the Rogue Trader's crew, or being a Hive noble and hive scum, or being an Astra Militarum Officer and infantry grunt.

If I could choose, the Imperium of Man has the best opportunities for a human - that is, the ceiling for success is much higher.

If I couldn't choose, being a laborer for the Tau Empire is probably where I'd prefer to be. Better working conditions.

If I could be of any faction's race, I would choose either Ork (because they are, by default, the most satisfied race in the galaxy) or Eldar (because, as much as I try to avoid it, being an arrogant prick feels pretty damn good... and having a multi-thousand-year lifespan is pretty awesome, plus there's always the chance I could end up in a Wraith construct and 'live' even longer, or Ynnead may well wake up enough to get the Resurrection Train choo-chooin' along).

I'd like to be a human on a peaceful moderately teched world in the Imperium of man with absolutely nothing noteworthy about it. etc.

in short I'd like a comfortable life. all you people claiming to want to be a astartes of any type, or something are absolutely nuts

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

All human factions are stuff of nightmares so non of those.let them fight their idiotic civil war and they can stuff those augmentations into somebody else his ass.

I do not want to be convinced to give my life for the fishy overlords so tau are out.

Works, miss an daemon's are you because I don't want to be dinner

This leaves me with some eldar faction. Not the most hospital place but I might just have a decent live as a cabal agent send back in time on earth in order to prevent the emperor from being born

As a human in the 40k universe - my only professional skill set is serving alcohol so I'd probably be a serving wench for the Space Wolves.

As anything in the 40k universe - dead. I'd have been used as a meat shield by my CO in whatever faction I was born into.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I'd want to live on a shrine world or a Garden world. Even an Agri world. I think you'd stand a pretty decent chance of living what we would call a normal life on one of those.

Heck, I could serve as a layman in a Ministorum Cathedral somewhere. If I could pick, maybe Ophelia VII. I imagine a garden or agri world would be more peaceful, but the Imperium isn't just going to write off Opelia VII, so it's probably a decently safe place to live, if you don't mind being part of the Imperial Cult (and if you grew up there you probably wouldn't mind - social indoctrination and all that).

Let it be known to all present and future Sisters of our Orders that they must fast at the High Vigils of Saint Thor, Saint Aspira, Saint Jason, Saint Orlanda, Saint Dolan and Saint Constantine of Alamar. Upon the Holy Days of Saint Gherick the Confessor, Saint Decessio and Saint Lucius of Agatha, let them meditate. Let them fast for not less than five days preceding the Most Holy Days of Our Founding Sisters, Saints Dominica, Katherine, Silvana, Mina, Lucia and Arabella. Let them observe silence for the vigils of Saint Capilene, Saint Josmane and Saint Lacena. Upon the Low Days of Saints Yamalla and Corvus the Sabines, Saint Tomasi, Saint Dufaux and most especially Saint Josina, they should both fast and maintain silence, and upon the Days of Saint Praxedes, Saint Kozak and Saint Verevya they should meditate upon martyrdom. Upon the Feast of Saint Jasone, they must fast, but may consider themselves at liberty between matins and vespers.

Daemon of Slaanesh.

Living forever in a state of total ecstasy seems a bit preferable to the alternatives. Even the richest Imperial noble gets his soul eaten by daemons some day.

If it was a 40k parallel to current events in real life, my Planetary Governor would have been killed in a political coup in which the noble houses declared an 'Imperialexit' from the Imperium. The masses of the workforce would flood to the banner of the eight-point-star disfranchised by Imperial Bureaucracy and servitude. There would be a splintering of certain groups faithful to the Emperor that would call out for help and try to start civil war. I would likely be trying to live life 'business as usual' but with worldly events would likely be conscripted to crush these 'Imperial Unionists'. So I would have to pray to the dark Gods for a good quality of life and an ascension to Daemonhood or buy my way out with riches and good health from Slaanesh!

If I had a choice something cushy like Planetary Governor of a paradise world for noble visitors away from a warzone or something similar

Obviously A scion of a long-standing Rogue trader dynasty. Cushy traders with almost limitless permits, as a Son of the house I get all the benefits but none of the work of running the enterprise. And knowing bionics dadda wouldn't die for ages and would spoil his kids.

Way better then anything the Tau could offer to a civilian, while still getting everything the Tau would offer as a trader envoy to them for a year or two.
