Welcome to Dakka! A quick search of the forum is often a good idea before posting - this was brought up a few weeks ago in this thread here.

That said, Dakka's search function is one of the worst I've come across in an online forum in 21-odd years of internet usage, so fair play if you just didn't use it, or couldn't find anything with it

Short answer though is that Typhus' rule applies to cultist units in the army as a whole, rather than being detachment-specific, so it would work.
