Shade of Despair and Torment

Okay, years ago I was able to sell an xbox account and easily change some info, and it was there's.

I am about to sell an xbox account of 7 years with many bells and whistles, and I started changing and deleting info. The xbox account is still associated with my hotmail (and bing and skype) account(s). I can not for the life of me figure out how to separate these. I created a new gmail and outlook email and have been trying to get the xbox id on those. No luck. I can't delete the hotmail from the profile (or the paypal email either). I called support and they said they recently changed some things in regards to transferring accounts, and they couldn't help. Am I doomed to relinquish my hotmail and all connected accounts with the xbox id? OR, when the buyer gets on xbox to sign into his new xbox tag is that when he enters a new email to associate with the account?

Any help is appreciated.
