Hey all, looking for some opinions on a list a friend and I are running for a team tournament.

Space Wolves 1500
Bloodied Claws Rite of War

Hvarl Red-Blade 210

Priest of Fenris (Speaker of the Dead) 105

Grey Slayers 200
10 man
Bolters
Power Fist and Artificer Armor for Huscarl
Rhino Transport

Grey Slayers 200
10 man
Bolters
Power Fist and Artificer Armor for Huscarl
Rhino Transport

Deathsworn Pack 175
5 man

Veteran Tac Squad 177
6 man
Combi Melta x5
Meltagun x1
Machine Killer veteran ability

Land Raider Phobos 225

Sicarian Battle Tank 205
Las Cannon Sponsons

Total 1487

I don't remember the specifics for the Iron warriors side of the army, but here are the basics

Iron Warriors 1500
The Ironfire Rite of War

Delegatus

Siege Breaker

Legion Tactical Squad
15 man
power fist and artificer armor for Sarge

Legion Tactical Squad
15 man
powerfist and artificer armor for sarge

2 Quad Mortars w/ Phosphex Shells

2 Medusas with Phosphex Shells

Achilles Land Raider
Pintle mounted Multi Metla

Total: 1500 (again not sure on points for units, but fairly sure the total is 1500)

So rules for the tournament let your team count as sworn brothers regardless of faction. They also count as friendly units in all regards.

So the idea is to have Red-Blade give scout to the rhino grey slayers and the veteran tac squad. Probably just have the slayers scout up the board and have the tac squad outflank and potentially take out any AV unit that is a priority. Deathsworn are a killunit with the Speaker of the Dead joined with them, and they roll up in the Phobos. Red-Blade probably goes in the Achilles and tries to stay close to the slayers and deathsworn to give them preferred enemy with his warlord trait. Meanwhile, the Iron Warriors are in the back pelting stuff with lots of Phosphex.

Any comments or ideas welcome.

I believe your first HQ needs to be either a Praetor or Centurion as per the compulsory HQ choice.
A friend of mine was moaning about this as he wanted to take Redblade in a 750 list.

He may be wrong and I don't have the book to correct him but he's not the only one I have heard moan about this.

Hopefully someone can shed more light on this.

Add a thousand points to make it a 2,500 point game, and it might actually be a good game. Anything below 2,000 is a "weak" game for 30K. 1,500? Bleh!

Well to be fair its a 3000 point game divided by 2 as its doubles

Why wouldn't Redblade be a Compulsory HQ choice?

From what I've read, since Red-Blade has the Master of the Legion rule, he counts as a Praetor. Of course I will be attempting to verify this before I actually play this tourney.

And he has the Praetor statline, too my knowledge no other Praetor character has anything marking them as a Praetor other than the Master of the Legion rule.
