Subject: Suggestions for Inexpensive counts-as for 40K Pink Horrors
My sculpting skills are at best minimal and I applaud those with the talent and patience to make their own that way. The problem I encounter is this: my local game shop is very small and a family run business. They can't afford the license fees to sell Games Workshop products and even the license fee to sell Citadel paints is upwards to $1000. There are however Bones, Reaper, and Chronoscope figures available. There are other online stores and places that don't cost as much but it's a time consuming effort to piece purchase an army unit when even the used figures on eBay are either as expensive or few and far between. The idea I have is to buy select Pink Horror bits and customize a much more inexpensive base model using green stuff.
So any suggestions?

How about a load of coloured pom-pom balls as the bases?
Large pink ones, medium blue ones, and small yellow ones. Stick your arms, beaks, what have you into them with pins, all dandy like.
If I could smooch you over the internet I would. You're suggestion gave me an idea to peruse Oriental Trading company for stuff like that for a lot cheaper than if I tried to find mini-figs that would work. You made me so happy I danced a little in my seat.
