With the way things are going, what trimvirate would you like to see?

Tau Triumvirate - plastic Commander Farsight, plastic Commander Shadowsun, plastic dare I say it...Shas'O'Kais.

Farsight has some type of bad ass variant - enforcer xv8 commander armor with an advanced shield generator.

I doubt Farsight and Shadowsun will get any re-writes any time soon. If the Mont'ka book had ended differently, Then I guess it could have been a longshot of Farsight, Aun'va and Shadowsun like we got in the book but the Tau are effectively sidelined in the grand scheme of things at the moment with the Damocles gulf reset and Aun'va dead.

Shas'O'Kais would have definitely been interesting but it's difficult to call where he would fit in as he was effectively wearing shadowsun's battlesuit but a different variant.

I would rather see more new Tau Empire characters than revamp the old (Though changing Farsight's rules around to something close to your suggestions would be a good call, though I think you went a bit overboard by going 3++... T5 2+/4++/5++ with EW is extremely durable, particularly if you're letting him regain wounds by slaying enemies in CQC).

The general trend seems to be "Beatstick, Playstyle Changer, Support provider" so far.

Preferrably it would include a Fire Caste Commander - O'Kais would be perfect, as he would complete the Puretide-trained trio. I'm not sold on the Riptide per se, but O'Kais would make the most sense as the "Big" model of the Triumvirate (Cawl for GS1, Avatar of Ynnead for GS2, Guilliman for GS3) - I'd lean more towards a personalized Ghostkeel, given that O'Kais seemed inclined towards Stealth armor. He probably shouldn't be able to join other units (He's somewhat well known for his Monat lifestyle), and that's covered by the Monstrous Creature rules. I wouldn't mind seeing him inherit his "Fly up and shoot stuff when forced into melee" capability that he did so well in Dawn of War. This would be the beatstick. A revamped Farsight, if it happens, would probably fall in this category (but not necessarily at the expense of adding O'Kais - see below).

I would love to see a Kroot Mercenary Shaper - a Kroot outside the normal, restricted structure of the Kroots dedicated to the Tau Empire, and capable of exploring the adaptations that their mercenary, fly-all-over-the-galaxy inclinations could bring - think new datasheets, like the Black Guardians, with a look towards the old Apocalypse rules where you could get things like +1 T, +1 Ld, +1 I, etc. The Shaper himself could even bring some Psychic Shenanigans to the Tau, by being a Shaman. This would be the Playstyle Changer, introducing a more Auxiliary-oriented army rather than the Fire Caste focus of the current codex. Interestingly, O'Kais could also fall into this category (especially if he's given his Dawn of War XV-22 suit), as he could introduce a more "balanced" approach that integrates Kauyon and Mont'ka (or even creates his own, focused on his monat preferences).

Finally, a new Ethereal Supreme would make complete sense to me - The King is Dead, after all, so Long Live the King! [S]he could be providing constant Auras, improve the existing Ethereal boosts, and generally shore up Leadership - exactly what you'd expect from an Ethereal special character, and easily falling into the "Support Provider" role.

The HAVE to do a Chaos one at some point, though it is looking unlikely with new Ahriman and Kharn models. Ahh, who am I kidding, Abaddon needs a new model.

We will probably have Abbadon, Fabius Bile (or Lucius) and Typhus. They will probably be the last army to have their three heroes. They will probably win big in the last part of the story.
