So in a Convocation you take a Cult Mechanicus Battle Congregation, A Skitarii Battle Mantiple and an Imperial Knights Oathsworn Detachment. I assumed this to mean that the largest number of Knights you could take is three, max for an Oathsworn Detacment. In the formation description each detachment is listed as a separate entry that together make up the formation.

The question is, since there is a Lord of War slot in the Mechanicus Congregation can I take a second Knight unit to fill this slot, counting a apart of the Congregation and not as the separate detachment required? The Convocation rule says 1 Oathsworn Detachment, so could I not fill the LoW slot in the Congregation with a Baronial Court or other detachment? The way I read this is it would be completely within the rules of the formation, allowing up to eight Knights in the formation. What say you all?

LOW Slot is NOT a Formation Slot.

The Cult Mechanicus Battle Congregation does not have a Lord of War slot, and even if it did, one of the Detachment's restrictions is that all units in it must have the Cult Mechanicus Faction, or have no Faction.

FW Knights can fill a LoW slot in any Imperial army. However, pretty sure War Convocation does not have a LoW slot in any of its detachments.

What a knucklehead. I was playing with a bunch of list possibilities and mixed up the LoW slot in a CAD with the Battle Congregation. Thanks all for pointing out my mistake!
