The Dark Eldar originated from the Birth of Slaanesh and the Fall of the Eldar.

This period coincided with the rise of the Emperor from Terra.

I'm looking for information about these early encounters between the burgeoning Imperium and the Dark Eldar, which is scant as you can imagine.

I can imagine the Emperor being a savior for those humans suffering under Dark Eldar raids.

Vulkan lived under the predation of proto Dark Eldars.

The Dark Eldars as we know them are the product of Vect rise to power in the mid M30. Before that Commoragh was a very different place. Kabale didn't existed, Wytch Cults were rather different and less powerful, only the Haemonculus Coven were pretty identical to what we can find in M40.

The dark eldar didnt so much originate from the birth of slaanesh, they caused the birth of slanesh. As far as 40k goes, DE are as close as you get to prefall eldar. Exodite, Craftworld, and Harequin are all a bit odd and new compared to DE which are pretty much base eldar.

Dark Mechanicus and Renegade Iron Hand Dakka Blog
My Dark Mechanicus P&M Blog. Mostly Modeling as I paint very slowly. Lots of kitbashed conversions of marines and a few guard to make up a renegade Iron Hand chapter and Dark Mechanicus Allies. Bionics++
