Subject: Quitting 40k is Totally Worth It

If you're on the fence about whether or not to stop playing 40k:
1. Think about the money that you could save.
2. Think about the time that you could save.
3. Consider what you could be doing instead.
4. Consider the fact that you could stop hanging out with the people who hang out at your FLGS, essentially, the same sort of people who post on dakka fora.
Do you really like those people? Be honest. Do you REALLY like those people?
Come. On.
Do you know who plays 40k? Have you frequented these fora?
Let's assume that 40k were a fantastic game. Would it be worth it if you had to play with these people?
The game is horribly imbalanced. The company that makes the game is utterly incompetent.
And as bad as the player base is (they're worse than Dark Souls players!), 40k brings out the worst in them. So many of them constantly seem be in tournament mode, and they will not hesitate to ridicule you if you aren't!
If you quit, you could stop dealing with these people. It's absolutely wonderful.
And you could be doing...literally anything else.
Just some food for thought.
If you are thinking about quitting, do it.
If you're thinking about starting, don't.

Not in the same way.
1. Yes, in any competitive/cooperative hobby, you have to deal with other people. But the fact that 40k players seem to be in constant tournament, "I MUST WIN" mode, that turns otherwise "normal" (read: unpleasant and socially awkward people) into people who are downright obnoxious.
2. Once you get past the cool models and awesome fluff, the game itself...it's just incompetent.

1) This is an over generalization. Most 40k players are not competitive "i must win at all cost".
2) If you have fun playing it then it doesn't matter

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
