To specify, I am referring to kustom stompas, not buzzgob's big mek stompa.

Anyways, I thought this was a simple answer, on page 2 of the following, it clearly says kustom stompas are a legal LOW choice for armies from codex orks or a dread mob:

However, in the dread mob update, on page 16 the kustom stompa is missing from the list of allowable LOW choices.

Neither document is dated, so I don't know which is most recent. They were both released in 6th edition, but I can't find any date for either. Is there a way to determine when they were uploaded from google? I can't find a way, but maybe I'm just dumb.

At any rate, I'm a little confused by this, and saddened, as I have just completed my second kustom stompa, and now I find they may not be legal.

I know that they are not ITC legal, and this may be why, I suppose.

Anyone have any opinions?

The dread mob update came out BEFORE LoW was even a thing

That can't be correct, as the dread mob update has a list of allowed ork LOW choices, see second link, page 16. It must have come out around the same time as escalation, which started allowing LOW choices in 40k.

It listed Stompa but not Kustom Stompa, though, so it's probably still not legal for use. Like most these things though, talk to your opponents and they might not have any problems agreeing to let you use one.

Many of the Kustom Stompa's rules and wargear choices aren't terribly compatible with 7th ed. For instance, tell me what a Supacharger does?

So I would lean towards generally not playing it except in very special occasions.

Shoot... if Buzzgob is legal at it's price, I'm not sure if anyone would complain if you go the Kustom Stompa route (paying nearly twice as much).

Only reason I'd go with it, is to be able to purchase the void shield and the belly gun.
