I´m thinking about adding an Adl to my Death guard vectorium. The reason is because my heldrakes always come later than i want and i´m adding a mayhem pack to my army (3 helbrutes with DS). So adding a aegis defenceline for my 2 havocs squads with comms relay might be the answer to my problems. Problem is that i like the Chaos warband in my vectorium and not the CAD. How World you guys add a ADL in a army like mine?

If you got deep striking units, helldrakes and havoc's then I don't understand why you would choose not to have an aegis defence line with comm.

Last weekend played a 1500 point tournament and for that I needed to downsize my 1850 point armylist. I choose not to bring my comm relay because I got a 2+ reserve anyway (Genestealer cult formation). First game I roll six '1' results for my Genestealer cult units. That reroll is vital for these kind of armies.

I think so. Dont think the vectorium lets me tale a fortification.

Its mostly for the comms relay so i can reroll my brutes and drakes coming inn. The defence line is just Nice for my havocs.

Are you thinking about taking a different legion for your CAD? This opens up new ideas for my World Eater army where my Havocs are getting blown away easily, however I only have one unit of Termicide for deep striking. The turret being used by the Havoc Champ could be neat though.

Depends on what you're doing. If you need AA, it's not really cost effective - 85pts for a single Lascannon shot is bad, and 100pts for 4 twin-linked Autocannon shots is only a little better.

For the cover... Yeah, it's not bad at all. Depends on how much cover you use at your LGS, though - If you and your friends are fond of littering the board with ruins and area terrain, then it's not going to be as valuable, but if you play on light boards, then that 4+ cover can be pretty invaluable. (And in that case, the extra 35/50pts for an AA gun is... Still not great, but it's at least less bad.)

For the comms relay... Great choice, if you have a ton of reserves that rely on rolling and don't want to be screwed by a bit of bad luck.

I was planning on using it for cover for my havoc squads and the comms relay for hy two heldrakes and the mayhem pack. Problem is i need to bring a CAD.

if i bring the CAD instendig of my vectorium with the warband, all i lose is objektive secured on the troops in the warband right?

It's some of the cheapest reserve manipulation in the game. Doesn't mesh well with BA, but for most armies it's fine.

Ever think about a small renegades and heretic cad? Command Squad and two zombie units will only set you back 105 points, while giving you two 10 man 4+ FNP squads and 5 guardsmen with a leadership that could be 5 or 10.

I always bring an ADL, usually for the Quad Gun though. Have it give my artillery a cover save while the Quad is pretty good antiair when next to my Rapiers

That sounds like the answer to my problems. I've seen Renegades and heretics in a few top tier lists, but I honestly have no idea what they do. How would they do with my death guard warband? I usually run a combination of bikes, min squads of CSM in rhinos, havocs, chosen Melta squad, 2 heldrakes, cult of destruction with oblits, nurgle spawn and my recent addition the mayhem pack.

Renegades do artillery. They do a lot of artillery. They do so much artillery that there's literally a warlord in their army that can fire on their own units. They do so much artillery that it makes Imperial Guard look like Space Wolves.

This is pretty much the extent of what I know about about heretics and renegades. Any suggestions on a small cheap little CAD I could bring with my DG to get a cheap comms relay and ADL?

Zombies are only unlocked when your Command Squad's Arch-Demagogue is the Warlord and has the Covenant of Nurgle

You can just take Mutants for the same price though, they just don't get FNP and Fearless

Wow.. Good catch CrownAxe... Ive been playing that wrong for awhile then, I thought he just needed the Covenant. (Just got back into my CSMs being the main detachment)

BTW, he could, on the flip side take The Purge, grab two units of discount spawn and the fortification and call it a day right?

I'd take an Alpha Legion CAD to unlock the extras you need.

2 squads of infiltrating obsec cultists are jus so damn tasty.
Bring a barebones Psyker too and roll for Shrousing for a lovely 2+ behind the wall
