Morning,

Playing a swarm tyranid army at the weekend no idea what it comprises. How well would Lysander and 5 TH/SS fare in a LRC?

Against a horde they will likely get tarpitted all game and not do much.

Against horde armies they'll be wasted.

If you're still intent, keep them inside the Land Raider until you're close enough to go at Monstrous Creatures. Might as well use the heavy hitters to get rid of the synapse creatures.

like Frozocone said, leave them in the Land Raider until they can get in close enough range to charge a big target. If there are no big targets, you are kinda screwed.

Generally speaking, any assault unit that cannot move 12 inch and launch assault in the same turn is toooooooo slow. You will need some sort of support tobring them into combat. Land Raider is quite hard to break for Nids, but can be easily avoided by anyone with decent mobility.

LRC is decent enough versus nids, though LRR might be better (flamestorm does a number on venomthrope/horde armies).

My advice? Take Thunderfire cannons. They'll mince up large blobs, and again you can Ignores Cover to get round the venomthropes.
