Hello Friends,

I have a 1500 point double elimination league approaching and id like to run my show army.

Its an odd combo but...

Warboss w/ pk, bosspole and battle wagon
6 Nobs w/ Big Choppas, cybork bodies.

2 blitza bombers

2x 5 Lootas

6 Killa Kans
w/ Grotzookas

1 Def dread w/ 4 melee weapons.

1 Morkanaut w/ kff.

Fill out the remaining points with boyz.

Everything is optional. I want to hear how best to fill this list or what to change. thanks.

I chuckle to myself a little when you say competitive walkers. I love the little guys, but the walkers are not competitive. With that being said, i have had success by playing the dread mob formation from waagh ghazkul. At 1500, you can just fit the minimum, but it does mean you only present armor values to your opponent. With the right match-ups, you can have success. You get wrecked by an opponent who has sufficient anti armor though....

Funny you say that... walkers are easily the toughest units to succeed with. But I am determined to bring them back. In 5th ed. Killa Kans were a force to be reckoned with.

The Morkanaut is new to me. I bought and assembled this unit just for fun but I would like to use it.

As the sad, sad owner of 36 Killa Kans, I can attest that the Ork Kan Wall list is well and very truly completely effin' DED.

GW somehow came to the conclusion that they were WAY too good before and dropped a massive points-hike on them, while simultaneously cutting their Klaw Strength to 7 and making them take Morale checks even tho they're vehicles.

Good times!

Anyway, to be more constructive: there is a guy locally who comes to every event and drops 4-5 Gorka/Morkanauts plus a Buzzgob Stompa on the table. I can tell you, it makes some of the most competitive lists out there work hard for their wins. No one anywhere ever plans to deal with that much AV13+. They're just not going to expect it. It won't really win anything, mind, but it may win a soft spot in your li'l' greenskin 'eart when your opponent sees the list for the first time and their jaw falls off.

Pretty expensive buy-in, tho, I'll admit.

Alpharius is that guy at the FLGS that just got his first 'Start Collecting' box fully assembled, and Guilliman's the guy that's been playing since the 90's. When Alpharius started doing well, Guilliman said he didn't play a 'real army' and started screaming about how he sucked. Then Alpharius tabled him.

Nobz, morkanaut, deff dread, 2 blitza bommer are points wasted IMHO. Kans are also meh but not as terrible as those units, still a huge point sink though.

If you need a KFF and the morkanaut weapons you can take a big mek on bike with 5 warbikers and a unit of 3 KMKs with ammo runts. Same points but way more effective than a morkanaut.

Boyz are better than nobz, more wounds to protect the warboss and capable of more damage for the same amount of points.

Actually i like that kff big mek on bike idea a lot. I use a morkanaut or two in my dread mob list for the kff and can attest that those walkers are too easy to one shot, and then your crucial 5+ invuln is gone. In the bike squad, the kff is easier to physically hide, can jink for an even better save, and has ablative wounds. Ill have to run that next game.
