Anyone use them do you ever keep power armor ever skip the camo cloaks if you go scout armor
Also do you ever keep bolters rather than sniper rifles?

I use them often but mainly because I had an unused squad of scouts from 40k I run them with power armour camo and snipers because they look dope with mk4 helmets on. They don't do much i won't lie but i like having them camping at the back. the occasional rend is good

Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth. For a man can remake the world if he has a dream and no facts to cloud his mind. |

The better question might be "Does anyone actually use Recon Squads?!"

I use mine to infiltrate forward, hold objectives, spot for my quad mortars, and guide in deep strikers.

I have been noodling around with them for my IW and specifically for the Iron Fire RoW.
I really wanted to get scouting PA guys in a rhino up field to start taking advantage of the bonuses to barrage shots, but the main issue is they're way to expensive this way.
They cost just 15 points less than a veteran tac squad with a pair of heavy flamers (assuming you gear the rest of the squads the same, nuncio-vox, AA+PF sgt, rhino etc.)
Veterans also come with Outflank, Sniper, bolter + BP + CCW for that 15 points.
I think if you're going to run them then recon armor, cammeloline (sp?) and infiltrating are the way go to.
