I apologize if this is already covered in another thread, but I believe it would take me until August to find the answers.

What is considered to have Ynnari faction? Anything E, DE, HAR?

To gain access to Soulburst, do I just need to fill in a CAD and 1 Formation?
Ex: Farseer, two windriders and an aspect host?

I am just wondering how I can fit these new things into what I have for models.

Visarch, Yvraine and Yncarne are the only models with the Ynnari Faction. SInce they are HQ, HQ & LoW respectively, they is no way to EVER run a CAD of Ynarri (no troops)

However, Eldar, DE and Harliquins units can be taken in a Reborn Host Detachment (basically a CAD, but no ObSec)
They will gain the Ynnari Faction and thus trade 'Battle Focus' or 'Power from Pain' for 'Strength from Death'.
SfD is what give units the ability to Soulburst

The Reborn Warhost detachment includes all the same "slots" as a CAD + unlimited Formations.
So you can totally take 1 Faseer, 2 Windriders + Aspect host in a Reborn Warhost.

Just remember there's no fortification slot for the Reborn Warhost.

I'm not sure how that is relevant to this topic. OP asked about Formation, not Fortification.

But since you bring it up, you are correct. That has been something I struggled with when first building a Reborn host. All my Eldar/DE lists prior to that included either a Landing Pad or VSG.
Considering that Skathach WKs and Hornets are also not Ynnari options, it may be worth taking an minimum Eldar CAD for these options alongside your Ynnari

@Galef, do you feel like Hornets fill a role that isn't elsewhere by Ynnari options? I love the models and mighty want some just because I think they look cool... but temptation is always to just go... "Oh... or buy even more Scat bikes" etc...

Hornets definitely fill a role that no other Ynnari unit can. No other unit can deliver 4 Str8 AP2 shots from 48" away

The units that come close are either more expensive (Falcons, Crimson Hunters), or won't have as many shots or be as durable (War Walkers, Vypers).
I recommend at least 2 Hornets for any Eldar player regardless of the play style you want.

Ynnari make that a bit difficult. If you already want a Fortification, Skathach WK or Warp Hunter, I'd say go ahead an bring a CAD with all those + some Hornets

For the last couple years my tournament list consisted of Hornets, warp hunters, an occasional lynx or skathach and usually a VSG

With the new Ynnari faction I am currently in the revision process for the whole list. It has opened up some very awesome options for some of my collection which has been sitting on a shelf for 10+ years.

I tried to run a combination list with warp hunter, hornets, a vsg in a cad and also run the reborn detachment, but i found that mixing them doesn't allow me to optimize the soulburst actions as easily. I currently prefer the reborn host, but I have some nightwing interceptors and a phoenix bomber who desperately need to see the table soon, so I haven't abandon CWE in any way.

The biggest thing to remember about mixing Ynnari and Eldar is that vehicles do not get Soulburst anyway, yet when those vehicle die, they do trigger Soulburst in nearby units. So having Hornets, Warp hunters and a VSG in a CAD will function exactly as if they were valid choices for the Reborn Host

The trick part is the HQ and Troops needed. I think an Autarch and Windriders are the best option since you can just have them be in Reserves and they can fill in the gaps that are not near Ynnari units. Or you can place them in front of you Ynnari so that they are likely the first units to be killed, thus triggering Soulburst for the Ynnari units.

That was exactly right. The HQs from the CWE don't synergize well because if they join a Ynnari unit, the unit will lose it's strength from death rule.
