Hi there,

I am wondering if there are multiple force organization charts, and, if there are, can I take them instead of the basic one? I am wondering if we have to adhere to 1 HQ 2 for our first detachment. My friend is using some plague marine as troop choice + typus force organization chart that gives them a number of abilities like increased feel no pain etc. I don't know if this FOC can only be used after you fill out your basic FOC or what, haha. Thanks for your help!

There are some different FOC charts but they tend to be Codex specific. The only other ones I can think of are where there are attacker/defender options.

In relation to your friends list, Typus lets you take Plague marines as troop choices (same for any chaos lord for cult troops with the same mark for Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh, or Sorcerer for Tzeentch) so It sounds like he's just using the standard FOC or just the recent Traitor Legion formation.

sounds like your friend may also be taking the new chaos marine formation detachment.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Don't think of armies in terms of "FOC" any more; that's old terminology. Think of (Battle-Forged) armies in terms of "Detachments" instead.

The "FOC" that you're thinking of is now called a Combined Arms Detachment. It is just one of many types of Detachments that armies have access to, but it's not a requirement at all.

A Battle-Forged army may have any number of Detachments in any combination, with each drawn from any Faction (and some even drawn from multiple Factions). They will each have their own requirements and benefits.

Note that Formations are also Detachments in their own right, though are much more strict in what you must take. But you could have an entire (Battle-Forged) army of nothing but Formations.

Hope that helps.
