Recently I was able to pick up a Swarmlord model. I would prefer to use it as a plain walking Hive Tyrant (the swarmlord just isn't very good for its points) for my army however I can't seem to get the arms off. I have no idea what type of glue they used but it's like concrete. I am afraid I will just break the arms and the sockets will be stuff with the old plastic. I tried putting it the freezer for a few days to make the glue brittle but no luck. Any advice? Freeze it again for longer?

If it is plastic glue then its fused that into one piece of solid plastic.

Getting that off... I don,t know there

If ots super glue there are a few products marketed as breaking it down but I have no idea if they work.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

If they used a decent cement for the plastic, physical separation (i.e. CUTTING ) is your only way to separate them.

If they used superglue, you can often weaken that bond by freezing it (put it in a baggie and in the freezer overnight). Allow to thaw then try and separate with a gentle twisting motion. May take several goes (freeze/thaw). Works better on older metal/plastic hybrids.

Many of the superglue debonders will harm the styrene plastic (in my experience).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
