Painted my first Heavy Weapons team today. Used the Autocannon. I assembled it completely and based it before I painted it. I'll never do that again! What a pain!

To each their own I suppose, but I have done a couple dozen heavy weapon teams now and I only ever paint after assembly and basing, makes it go so much quicker.

I had a helluva time getting between the team and the autocannon to paint.

Did mine as a weapon & gunner together, the 2nd man is on a different base that sits on the main base so a lot easier to paint.

Used to paint in parts then assemble but got fed up with touching up the bits round the joints

There are merits to both approaches. If you're careful with the positioning of the infantry, you save yourself a lot of headaches.
