So Guys,
Sorry if done before.
Best performance from a model / unit on the first time you've used them! What unit truly exceeded expectations!? And just for a bonus... worst debuts?
My best, my brand new Callidus Assassin killed 5 Devastators then 5 Jump Pack Marines causing havoc in back lines before my opponent was forced to pull Terminators out of position to deal with her, the little nutcase took two with her... He never really recovered.
Worst, my Ratlings went their first 3 games with no kills, been benched since!

Worst: Exorcist explodes first turn before it even had a chance to do anything.
Best: Karamazov. Explodes a las pred first turn. Proceeds then to decimate 4 full tactical squads throughout the course of the game, reducing them to mere handfuls of models.

I have one that is kind of both a really good debut and a really bad one. It was the first time I used some of my brother's dark eldar as part of an ynnari list.
My opponent was using the chaos formation with the free 2d6 move at the start and he had mainly combat units preparing for a turn 1 charge. He had the first turn so was right up in my face and then with his first shooting attack he decided it would be a good idea to pop my raider. It exploded and in the process blew up a lone beastmaster I had on the board just to die. I then use strength from death and shoot my wraithknight, dark reapers, dire avengers and guardians back at him. Together they killed a maulerfiend and a defiler and killed enough from 3 different close combat squads to pretty much make them useless. I ended up killing about twice as many points of his in his shooting phase than he killed of mine.
In their debut game they got killed before they could do anything but they went down in a blaze of glory.

Worst: Triaros moves 6", doesn't fire a single shot, gets blown to smithereens on my opponent's first turn, leaving 20 spooky skellymen (who can't run) stuck on the starting line.
Needless to say, those skeletons did nothing that match.
Best: Dunecrawler with an Eradication Beamer sits atop an objective on the half-way line, Tau Pirahna zooms straight up to it, within 4", trying to contest the point.
Dunecrawler 1-shots the Pirahna straight after. (Felt alot like a straight up "No" slap as soon as someone appears beside you, before they utter a complete word).
Most salt inducing: Shiny, new, 330 point Macrocarid Explorator wipes out 1300 points of Chaos Marines without so much as a scratch.

Worst: Fire Prism. The bloody thing still hasn't managed to hit anything. (Runner-up: post-5e Vindicare. "Would you like First Blood, sir?")
Best: Grave Wardens. Any unit I've pointed them at just sort of goes away, be they bunkering Guardsmen, Lootas, two thirds of a Terminator squad...(Runner-up: Land Raider Achilles. Flare shield on, and everything the Baneblade points at it just bounces straight off.)

Worst: Pyrovores. I don't know what I was thinking. They stumble out of the Mycetic spore, but scattered out of range of their targets and promptly ate a battle cannon to the face and died. Weak
Best: Dimachaeron. First time I deployed it it more or less swallowed a Chaos Lord for the Plasm-tokens, then ripped off a Bloodthirster's head and spat down its neck (the poor thing never got to swing, the fight was decided with one sickle claw strike that got a 5 to roll, causing instant death and the bloodthirster was gone before it got to swing its D-strength axe at all), then went about ripping and tearing through everything the Khorne daemonkin army put in its way. It was like a giant Eversor and some of the most glorious rip and tear carnage I've ever seen out of a melee focused TMC in a non-homebrew/minimal house rules game since the Swarmlord was banned from biomancy.
Of course, I soon came to learn that the Dimachaeron did so well becuase Khorne daemonkin, as an army with very weak shooting in general and an army that relies on I1 bloodthristers who are rather allergic to instant death for its heaviest punch; was basically feeding puppies into the woodchipper of the Dimachaeron. It's sadly far more underwhelming against gunline armies that can kill it when it pops up before it can get a charge going. It is decently fast and it is absolutely devastating in combat when it gets there, but it's not quite durable enough to survive the bucketloads of shooting that can blow apart a T6 3+ save model going around.

Best: Magnus oneshotting a Wraithknight with his strength D (non-beam version) in the first turn. The game was personally won for me from that point on. In the same game my prophecy Exalted Sorcerer on foot saved 17 (SEVENTEEN!) strength D wounds from a Wraithguard D-Flamer squad with his rerollable 3++ from Twisted Fate.
Worst: The same sorcerer dying to two S5 wounds the round after with his 3++ rerollable (already lost a wound through perils). Chaos is fickle

Or you can just keep buying chaos everything, and not play them. Just sit alone in your room for years, painting and detailing, and detailing some more. Then keep doing that for years until you own upwards of 10000 points of chaos. Keep shining their swords and sharpening their knives. Then some day, some wonderful day, when a new book comes out that will realize your armies' potential, come out from hiding. Everyone will have thought you had left warhammer 40k for good, but no, you had been training, preparing, and brooding for this moment. Return with such vengeance and hatred that you will not hold back, and you will destroy everything in your path. Like a true chaos crusade, wait for the right moment, then burst forth from the Eye of Terror and unleash your pain on the whole universe. And when they cry and complain that you are OP and that it's not fair. Reassure them that it's true. It isn't fair, but it's what they DESERVE. All of them, each and every one of them deserve to be obliterated into oblivion. And if they ask you to play with a fluffy army, tell them you will do so. But on game day bring the meanest nastiest, ugliest army you can. Give them no opportunity for victory, give them no opportunity for enjoyment. Your only goal is to inflict as much pain and suffering as possible. And when they cry, and they will cry, laugh at them, drink their salty tears, and bath in their sweet, sweet blood.

Worst: squad of terminators get pooped on by swooping hawks turn 1.
Best(AoS): lord on juggernaut absolutely WRECKS on and wipes out a full unit of saurus knights and the scar veteran on carnosaur on turn 1. Dude just quit after that combat and battleshock took out like over 1/3 of his armies point value.
Honorable mention: back when I played eldar in 2nd and 3rd I played harlequins with the WD rules for them. Played in an "Apoc" game with a bunch of buddies and a solitaire took out 6 bloodthirsters by herself in one game, basically 2 per turn. Man I miss the days of the solitaire being absolute op game breaking bull crap! Now they suck butt.

Best: My 10 man squad of Skitarii Vanguards, lose two of their members to flamers from an incoming Wraithlord, preparing to charge them right after. My squad does its overwatch. Four hits, two 6's to wound, so by the Radioactive rule it's 4 wounds to save for the Wraithlord. Well, he failed his 3++ rerollable and died because of two lucky hits from some 9 points worth Vanguard. I love them eversince.
Worst: My first battle against Orks, I set up my Kastelan Maniple at ground zero of a ruin, and don't move them at my first turn. Turn one of my opponent, he drives his Battlewagon in the face of the maniple and makes a 10+ squad of Nobz in Mega-armour with the warboss and a Painboy in it, they charge my Maniple and they all die. Don't even remember if they killed someone.
From this day I learned to not underestimate Battlewagons.
