So I just got 8 boxes of sisters of silence a box of talons of the emperor and a box of custodians....

So what do I do with them?
What army do I run and books do I need?

Also what do I give them weapon wise?

So I am not sure wtf to do with them lol.

I'd heard the Talons of the Emperor box had hardcopies of the books, but they're under $10 for digital copies.

If you want to use them in 30k you'll need lots of bolter or sword models, a few flamers, and Inferno; they're then a reasonable standalone force when their fancy special vehicles are added in.

If you want to use them in 40k the digital books apparently release tomorrow so I can't tell you everything, but from the leaks I've seen there's a bolter-only and a swords-only squad the way there is in 30k (and presumably a flamers-only or mixed-load squad somewhere else in the book), but they're not a great/functional standalone army so you'll need to pick up someone to handle the heavy lifting. Given the expense, narrow focus, and relative slowness of the Sisters you'll want to look for ways to get things that are broadly effective against a wide range of targets; I recommend considering the 40k Mechanicum, the Inquisition, White Scars, and/or a Knight.

But seriously, pick up Inferno. The Talons of the Emperor are a 30k army, the 40k rules are a patchy afterthought that don't really fit into the game well. (Also you get the laser-spear Dreadnaughts instead of the 5%-of-all-possible-loadouts mono-pose Calth Contemptor spray-painted gold.)

Surprisingly, 1d4Chan actually has a rather complete summary up based on Talons of the Emperor-Sisters of Silence for 40k.

For the Sisters of Silence you have to dedicate a full squad to one type of weapon now. That means there is three different squads of Sisters, the ones with Bolters, the ones with Greatblades, and the ones with Flamers.

Ah ok so mass flamers it is :p.

Thank you a ton guys was not expecting to receive them but got them today from the fedex man lol

Also is mass white still allowed for them or are these like a new sisters army?

They are sisters of silence but I am use to sisters of battle white armour and flamer heavy.

I use to own a sisters army..... like 12 years ago when they where witch hunters, then I sold them all for rent money when we where in a tight spot. So the wife always felt bad and with the new release I guess she got me a army of them lol.

I've often thought that if/when we get plastic sisters of battle they'd potentially work well with sisters of silence. they have similer stat profiles, the SoS are gonna shut down psykers, and as acts of faith are NOT psykic abilities, it'll give sisters a big edge.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

10 flame Sisters in a Rhino should be an admirable job of toasting whatever they're next to when they hop out.

The new SoS rules did put a bit of a crimp in my 6 greatsword, 4 flamer unit. Not sure if I'm keeping them as is and using the old rules, buying 5 more models to make a unit of 10 and one of 5, or just saying feth it, and shooting fire out of my swords and smacking enemies of the emperor about the head with a flamer.

The new Null Maiden detachment lets you shut down the entire Psychic phase for only a 330 point investment of 3 minimal Sister squads and 3 DT Rhinos. That's huge considering how much Magnus costs to field.
