Hi! So I've decided to start a little chaos space marine army and the color scheme I'm going with is stoney grey armour with a silver trim. My Weeping Angels ^_^. I do have some experience painting orks so I'm not a complete novice, but whenever I try to get started with my demon prince I alway draw a blank and crap out on painting him.

He's going to have the same armour color scheme as the marines, but the skin color is my issue. I really don't think the standard dark red would really suit the theme, but i think I'm too inexperienced to try black or dark grey and be able to bring out any real detail. So I was hoping for some suggestions on what you folks think. Maybe some other color that would look better, or how to bring out details if I do decide to go darker with it.

Thanks for reading and thank you in advance for any tips or suggestions you can offer

Which Chaos god is he aligned with? Generally Khorne princes are red or black, Nurgle princes are usually some shade of green, Tzeentch princes are often blue or white, and Slaanesh princes are purple or pink. Of course, there are exceptions to these, but from what I've seen both on GW's website and others, these colors are fairly typical. Ultimately just go with what suits you; there really isn't a "wrong" way to paint a Daemon Prince.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.
