So... fluffy modeling question.

I've got a slowly-growing Astral Claws (Badab-era). I liked the idea of maybe a few veterans having been part of the Deathwatch (so just with the shoulder badge and maybe variant weapons, but in AC colors)-- IDK, probably like 2-4. But, kinda' on the fence about whether it would fit. On the one hand, they've got lots of experience fighting aliens (Eldar, Orks, other esoteric stuff referenced). On the other, they resent the lack of imperial support and might not be interested in sacrificing even a few of their veterans.

Since it's a fluffy thing either way, just getting a sense if people think it fits or not. Thoughts?

Not sending Marines to the Deathwatch would bring the Inquisition along asking questions - and when they're Legion strength they could spare a Marine or four.

Why does their Deathwatch service have to have been even in the same century? Have them serve their vigil prior to the incident with the Fire Hawks. There are examples of Astral Claws serving in the Deathwatch anyway, in the form of Captain Andar Scarion.

That's fair, and thanks for the ref, jareddm, hadn't seen that character before.

According to the Deathwatch RPG, they do (did) second brothers to the Deathwatch, however this was quite rare. They're described as largely being smug gits who often see themselves as superior to those of other chapters. The rules and lore for them is found in Deathwatch: Honour the Chapter.

One of them was even a Watch-Captain.
