I bought a broken Lord of Skulls a few months back, didn't like the model so I did what i could to save it, here's what I came up with.

here's a size comparison

comments welcome.

this was another really fun project.

this guy is also for sale or trade if anyone is interested, I'd even trade him for a new Lord of Skulls kit so I could do the same thing over.

thanks for looking.

He's cool in concept and the paint is great...but he seriously looks like he skipped upper-leg day!! Once you hit the waist and thigh area, he looks like a beanpole.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I agree with timetowaste85. The conversion and paint work are well done, but the overall effect is slightly off.

I wonder if having a larger base for the model would help mitigate the elongated feel of the model? Your conversion is essentially the height of a Warhound titan and yet it is on a base smaller than a Knight Titan's base. Maybe beef up the base, add some additional scenery (the smashed Dred is a nice touch) and the thing will feel more menacing.

Still, great job turning a tank into a walker, that is no small feat!

I'd say if the legs were about half the current length it would look better. Neat idea though!

yeh, if it was a new kit I was working with I would have had more options, but it's not bad for what I had.

you got to admit

, no matter what, you know you've got a big build when there's room for a dead dreadnought on the base.

I love it! It is a slight transformers vibe with the tracks on the feet. The name is great too. I imagine it fixing things and generally being all-round awesome with a name like the Lord of Skills.

Can you post a pic with a space marine for size comparison? It looks taller than a Kytan!

Nice model. Cool use of a old kit.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I agree that The Lord of Skulls has a Transformers vibe to it. I am a fan of Transformers so the tank tread legs and feet are cool to me.

Regular Lord of Skulls look like couch potatoes sitting with their torso on top of a tank body. Thabow, it is great to see that you created a great conversion from a salvage model.

On major thing that I like is that the Lord of Skulls that you have created is that it is not painted all red like the main display models seen in books.

The silver & brass have a slight Iron Warriors feel to it but since there are no chevrons of black and yellow, that does not make it look to much like that group.

I like the Silver, Gold & Brass coloring of the over all model.

I just finished some knights and took a pic to show the size of the lord of skills,

with the exception of a tank I just did, this is the biggest GW model I've worked on to date.
