I started recently on a new Necron Destroyer Lord as I managed to lose the one I had. Just nowhere to be found, super annoying.
Any way, for inspiration, I like the way this one looks like he is slowly descending over some boulders or rocks, onto his enemies:
And this image often pops up in necron destroyer lord google searches, not sure where he comes from, but I like the way he has vulgarly over done the shoulder armor, and in general his evil pose:
So a combination of the two. So I planned to model some small rocky landscape on the destroyer base, which is quite large, and have it slowly descend down.

At first I started working on the base, picking bits from an old what's-it-called (the thing you put under kettles when you put them on the table)
I have used PVA glue to assemble the "rocks" to compose this thing, and drizzled small pebble/rocks to add detail.

As for weapons I want it to have a warscythe in one hand, and an orb in his other hand. Holding an orb in general looks good, has a sort of royal look to it.
The default left hand on destroyers is empty, but looks a bit wonky. I cut it up to realign it and put a greenstuff orb in it:

As for the warscythe, my last spare had two hands on it, so I cut away the section with the left hand on it and added small section of polystyrene rods to fill the gap
There is a brass pin in the center of the white section to add better support
I hope the low grip of the remaining right hand will still look ok when the model is completed

I decided to magnetize the body to make traveling easier
There is one bigger magnet (1/8"x1/16") to make it stick, and one smaller magnet 2mmx1mm to make it not spin

To magnetize the base, I took a piece of sprue, added magnets to match those on the body, and drilled a hole through it for a pin, then gently glued the pin into the base at an angle I thought would be right.

Then some more rock to hide the magnetinstallation.

Looks good so far:
