What are the rules for stopping reanimation protocol? I've heard/read several things that say the following...
1. Can not reanimate within 1" of an enemy.
2. Can not reanimate after failed morale check?
3. Can not reanimate if the entire squad dies.
And when is the roll supposed to happen?
The end of the shooting phase or assault phase?
Reanimation works just like FnP now, but better. You must be reading the old dex.
H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.
As a Necron player. Strength D and instandeath. Makes our RP go from 5+ to 6+ (in a Decurion its goes 4+ to 5+ and under "certain" modifiers it can stay at 4+). That what usually stops me from getting my RP.

Thanks in advanced for your help!

These are the old rules for Reanimation Protocols. Like the others said it is now works similar to FnP. Standard RP is a 5+ after armor/invul saves. If you take the Decurian Detachment it gives a +1 to the roll and Crypteks can give the unit they are with a +1 to the roll as well. The roll can never be improved beyond a 4+. Instant Death can reduce the roll by -1. Strength D attacks that remove the models do not allow the roll.
So looks like this:
Base RP +5
Decurian/Crpytek +4
Instant Death on Base RP +6
Instant Death with Decurian +5
Instant Death on Decurian with Cryptek unit +4
Str D remove model no RP roll
Thank you to everyone (almost everyone) for helping out. We just started playing 40k and with all the previous interpretations of this rule it was a tad bit confusing.
My helpful advice is to read your codex and stick to what is there. If you have a question, ask it in terms of what you have read and what you don't understand about what you have read.
He was already told a few time he was reading the old dex no need to reiterate just to bring up post count, bash another player and add nothing useful. And to PuppyWaffles good luck with 40k and don't let people like that ruin your day that's why we have a ignore button to make dakka a brighter place

InstaDeath does not stop Reanimation Protocols, just reduces the chances of it succeeding. Strength D Attacks and Remove From Play (before Wound Allocation) do stop Reanimation Protocols from being rolled, though.
Also note that Sweeping Advances are Remove From Play, so just as effective as before, just a lot harder to pull off than before.

A good way to check is to check the date of the post and compare it to the release date of the current book. A Search of Reanimation Protocols here can give you quite a few different answers depending on when it was asked, and they would all be correct for the time.
Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?
