Thought I'd make a place for Tau players to share 500pt lists. These can be as cheesy or as innovative as you like.
Let's see what we can come up with!

So here's mine:

Ethereal Gunline CAD

The aim of this list is to put pressure on your opponent's forces with two strike teams that are buffed by the Ethereal.
The Fire Warrior Shas'ui provide invaluable markerlight support to add further potency to this setup.
The XV8 Crisis Team then provides a situational edge through additional firepower, deep striking or flanking, which can be decided upon before the game begins.
And then 2 marker drones for further markerlight support.

HQ: Ethereal (1) - 50pts

TROOP: Strike Team (10) - 115pts
1 Fire Warrior Shas'ui: Pulse rifle, Markerlight and target lock
9 Fire Warrior: Pulse rifle

ELITE: XV8 Crisis Battlesuits (5) - 220pts

2 MV7 Marker Drone: Markerlight

*Missile Pods for ranged control / Fusion Blasters for deep striking into enemy lines and anti-vehicle support / Plasma Rifles or Cyclic Ion Blasters for additional fire support and coverage

I mentioned the Munitorum Containers in the other thread, but even if you don't get them, dump the PENchip. Not many vehicles at 500 that missile pods can't deal with on their own. 15 points could be a Stim or with that and losing a target lock, 2 more firewarriors.

Tempted to replace the PENchip with Target Lock on each suit. Better for deep striking and coverage.

I'll look into those containers.

And the Ethereal Fire Teams + Stormsurge List is just upsetting. It's so tight that there's not even enough points to get EWO on the Stormsurge.

I would never play that unless somebody said "okay we're all bringing the most broken things we can at 500."
