Hi Dakka,
I just finished this dynamic duo for my store and have tried to improve my photos recently - any thoughts/comments would be appreciated
I enjoyed parts of Guilliman, like his face/helmet/sword, but he did wear me down towards the end as he's pretty much just blue and gold. I went for more of a warm gold and an electric blue highlight with a muted base. I think he turned out pretty well although he seemed to take forever. I'm really happy with his killer frown face in particular
Kharn, on the other hand, I think is a cracking mini. He is also my first use of Agrellan Earth and self adhesive base tufts - exciting, I know!
Fantastic work all around. Great colour choices on Guilliman, I'm not a huge fan of the model but you've won me over with that awesome paint job. Care to share your techniques for that vibrant blue?
Kharn looks amazing as well, good attention to detail- great muzzle burn effect. The base looks quite authentic too. Have you used the other technical paints? Are they effective?
Really love the way that you've painted Guilliman! I actually think the model is ace, and you've done a fantastic job. In particular, I like the way that you've painted the face - I would say that it gives him a more classical or, perhaps, nobler look? Not sure, but very nice. Your choice of blue reminds me very much of old school 'Eavy Metal Ultramarines, which always sits well in my books. Good stuff!
Top-notch work on Kharn, too - thanks for sharing!
I love the face of Guilliman. Can you show me more picturs of his face and tell me how you painted that! Every other one I haven't like, including the Warhammer TV one.
My ancient "lab"
I'm still gawking at the brilliant blue you've got on there warspawned, it's stunning! Even better, it contrasts nicely with the gold you've done, which is very rich. Kharn looks brilliant as well!
