Devastating Dark Reaper

Worcester

Hello, this is cheese and if you are allergic I suggest you click away now...

I am trying to incorperate aspects of Dark Eldar into my Eldar list and was wondering what people thought of this.

I got this idea from Laurence from TabletopTactics and his Dark Eldar army how won a tournament with. He took lots and lots of Dark Eldar Reavers which did very well and I was wondering if I could incorporate something similar with my Eldar, especially with the soulburst rules where I can protect my jetbikes with the reavers by assaulting through soulburst.

I understand that perhaps just spamming more Eldar Jetbikes with scatter lasers my just work out better, but I wanted to try something less boring whilst achieving something pretty nasty.

I might try splitting one or two squads of reavers into 2x3 instead of 1x6. It'll give you a few extra units to soulburst from while keeping the same amount of firepower and bodies. Only other thing I might consider is bringing the sword and scattershield on the wraithknight.

This list looks nasty; I think the right general could win a tourney with this

Craftworlds Eldar: 8500
Dark Eldar: 1000
Harlequins: 1000
Raven Guard: 1500
Tyranids: 1500

I'd say this looks pretty solid, Sharp Cheddar for sure!

Personally, I'd drop the second Farseer and replace with an Autarch on a bike for simple reserve manipulation and a leadership boost to a bike squad.

Go with the sword and board Wraithknight with 2x Scatter Lasers. Nearly everything in this army will fold if it gets charged, and that'll give you some CC umph. Soulburst him forward to mix it up as soon as possible.

I wouldn't split more than 1 Reaver squad. More bodies means less likely to break after taking casualties, and these guys will definitely be getting shot at. On the flip side, splitting a squad will give you more jetbikes to zip over to objectives. I am a little hesitant about the blasters on the Reavers, mostly because I figure they're gonna be jinking...

Can't hurt to add a Warp Spider to each squad with the leftover points.

Groovy man, I like it though!

I really this list but would be inclined to consider the following.

I would be inclined to go with a sword knight too. The 6 man reavers could stay close to him and if either gets hit both can cause mayhem

Consider dropping 6 bikes so you have 2 small units as throw aways for grabs / powering up other units blaster on both but probably not worth caltrops

Swap for Heat lances on the remaining bike unit so you have some melta punch - they are amazing for double tapping vehicles. Or alternatively drop the 2 small bike squads too and just have that unit as a combat unit and add deepstriking scourge with heat lances / haywires

I think roughly that saves you about 200 points.

Consider an autarch / banshee /power axe (possibly a lance so you can sweep a unit and charge another and still have a hefty power weapon). If you roll fortune on a bike seer or Ancestors grace or phoenix that unit can become a beast.

The remaining points I would consider bringing 4* 3 man Ulthwe jetbikes (rejig the existing formations to take 1 from each and maybe drop 1 or 2 ynnari bikes to just basic bikes. This then gives you a potential full reserve list. with 4 pinpoint drop long range units to place on the board on a 2+ turn 1 ... so if you loose first turn you don't really care. Pretty much everything else can move on fast or deepstrike turn 2 (including the WK if you want)

Tactically this forces your opponent to either spread out and risk getting picked off via a refused flank or bunker up in which case your maneavourability and your ability to JSJ with all those scatter lase
It also lets you go last which with a bike army allows you to grab whatever objectives you want really!

FWIW I also think that while WKs are the hotness the utility of an Yncarne could be awesome too so that may also be worth play testing as a switchout.

There was alot in that so i started to play around with some of the ideas to consider as a similar list ...

Ulthwe strike force
3 Black Guardian windriders w scatter lasers
3 Black Guardian windriders w scatter lasers
3 Black Guardian windriders w scatter lasers
3 Black Guardian windriders w shuricats (likely stays off the table turn 1)

Ynnari Reborn
Autarch Bike, Banshee, lance, power axe
Farseer Bike
Shadow seer Mastery level 2 (rolls 1 telepathy for invis or shrouding and 1 phantasmancy for veil of tears)

6 Guardian windriders w scatter lasers (these benefit more from any guide rolls and you can pop the shadowseer in with them so they are practically immune, if he gets shrouding power too then other bikes nearby benefit - especially reavers, stubborn hit and run not shabby either!)
3 Guardian windriders w scatter lasers
3 Guardian windriders w scatter lasers

5 Reavers, Arena Champion (challenge monkey if required) 2* cluster caltrops
5 scourge, 3 with Heat lances (or haywires)

Aspect Host
4* warpspiders + Exarch
4* warpspiders + Exarch
4* warpspiders + Exarch

Wraithknight (whichever flavour you like although would lean towards shooty myself with this list)

You loose the second detachment but only 1 power dice gain some interesting flexibility and the core of the army stays very similar

whatever you do you have a really strong core

Let us know how you get on with the list. I would love to try it but I am playing lists without eldar for a team tournament soon!
