So, I've been getting back into 40k after bailing in 4th edition, playing with a group of friends. We have, essentially, the least competitive meta possible. I would like to put together a slightly more competitive list to take down to the local game store and eventually, possibly, to tournaments. This is my first take, working with units that I already have (some of which aren't assembled, so I can still customize easily).

These are my initial thoughts. I've also considered swapping the Devil Dog for a Hell Hound and/or swapping the Vets with flamers for more meltas and/or swapping the Commissar for an Inquisitor.

What do you folks think? Semi-competitive or a load of garbage?
