Hey guys, might be a silly question, but what skin colour are the eldar? I was hoping there is some variance (like us humans) and its not set to one or two tones? Im slowly amassing a Ynnari army, and haven't settled on a paint scheme yet, but I like to keep everything fluffy as much as possible. I will have an emphasis on Harlequins/DE more than craftworld if this changes anything?

Craftworld Eldar are essentially space elves, so their flesh is a pale human skin tone. Look at art online and at GW's Fantasy Battle range to see how they color elven flesh.

Dark Eldar in contrast have a pale, vampiric flesh.

Harleqins don't really have any skin showing as far as I recall, but they would be closer to Craftworld Eldar if they did.

Although this is the fluff, nothing prevents you from painting them any color you wish and justifying it with your own head cannon. I have a small band of Dark Eldar with vibrant human looking skin, which I justify by portraying them as living outside of Commorragh and having a healthy supply of captives to give them vitality.

In general, Eldar are pale skinned, however, it could be that the only Eldar skin seen by Imperial dogs are of that type. I would not be surprised if their skin tone runs the gamut of colors. Especially since Eldar like to pretty themselves up.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Its the ears.

And eldar seen to be paler flesh tones. Bit that's not to say other groups might be more tanned like exodites outdoors more, have different tones or modify there skin tone out of personal choice.

They could decide they wanted a blue tinge and eldar science its possible.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

Like humans, the Eldar have lots of different skin tones. You can use whichever skin tones suits your fancy.

If you'll excuse me, jhe, I have something in my shed that I need to show you. Please ignore the meat cleaver.

In all seriousness, you're looking at very pale, to moderate-light-skin tones. I'm not sure if there are darker-skinned Eldar in 40k. Refer to this image. It's an extreme example, but a good one.

There would be some variance in it but it would be mainly pale skin colours. A good paint to get would probably be eldar flesh, it is probably similar to the colour eldar flesh should be. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Dry-Eldar-Flesh

Though initially I would have probably sided with the 'pale skin' camp, I think they can have any colour and any complexion they want. Through their genetic knowledge, advanced technology and what not, why wouldn't they be able to pick and choose? They have, like, one hundred years to spend just going into the local Craftworld Suntan Shop or whatever every day and say they go there for aestetic reasons before picking another life path on which they might spend centuries to master it. Or why not visit a geneticist and have the skin slowly saturated with greenish pigments, just as a preparation for a tour of durty with the Striking Scorpions? Likewise, if you run exodites living on some maiden world with a nice tropical island belt, have Eldar with a deeper tan.

Long story short, they are your models, and something can be said for both sides (pale versus all manner of complexions) of the matter.

If they can do whatever skin tone they want, the chances are they'd modify themselves to be some variation of whatever is seen as "perfection", which seems to be pale.

That being said, skin tone is of course entirely up to the player.

Thanks guys! I was wondering if they had colours more akin to the tau, with blues and purples etc. I am going with bone helmets/face masks for my Ynnari, so was hoping I could have a nice contrast colour to it.

Might paint them similar to the genestealers, with a purple tinge to the white skin? Maybe all this time worshipping death has tainted their pure flesh.

In the path of the seer there's a scene where Tirianna is applying make up and uses a brush to change her hair color and does something similiar to make her skin tone fit her out fit. They have like make up on juice.

In the path the outcast it's mentioned they can just give themselves talons via fleshcrafting. Changing your skin tone is probably peanuts.

Oh sweet! Thanks for that tidbit! Makes me more comfortable modifying their aesthetic
