Aside from using decals, I'm wondering what trick there is to making Space Wolf Pack Markings look so clean. I've tried painting the base color and using a Sharpie pen to draw in the markings, but it never seems to work right. And getting all the markings to have the same look, some always seem to come out thinner or have less 'zags' in them, is just a nightmare. Any tips or tricks that actually work would be super awesome.

The real trick is to keep to what you can accomplish. Generally small straight lines are the best - keep to patterns which are simple (you can find the appropriate colours in the old codex, not sure about nowdays).

You don't need to be painting wolfs heads or battle axes, etc. Just simple lines. Lines can be touched up after the fact.

Easy markings I am talking about, I'm not trying to get fancy with any symbols or emblems, but when I look at the ones GW or other painters do theirs, it just seems like the jagged lines and triangle markings look so regular, almost like a template was used.
