When not thinned with enought water my Galleria Matte Varnish strips the base paint of my marines.
For some reason this does not happen with GW and Vallejo paint, but It does it only on my Gunzee based marines. And it strips it almost as good as iso.
However, when thinned properly and with 2 thin coats with 24 hours it between the coat is rock solid, but when I am in a hurry and apply a thick coat something is getting weird with my laquer paint.
My guess is that it could be the primer below. Some minis are primed with vallejo, others with chaos black and some with just plain black spray.

How long did you wait between spraying the Gunze paint and the varnish?

I slightly moved away from Gunze because it doesn't react well with many common varnishes (including Future and Humbrol Clear). It's like it remains susceptible for a *very* long time after painting it, like, I'm talking a month or so.

I have found Tamiya varnishes work fine over it though, and I assume Gunze's own varnishes probably work fine too but I don't own any of them to check.
