Have anyone used Summer Undergrowth bushes for basing?

I tried some using white wood glue to hold it on. But while the material is soft in the box, it becomes dry and brittle on the base. Just putting the model in and out of foam breaks the stuff, leaving just the small stubs left.

Oh that lichen stuff?

I hear a lot of train people will glue it down with pva, then after its dryed will spray it with alcohol first then spray watered down pva to keep all sorts of flocking down.

it works well for normal foam flocking but iv never used lichen before.

Yes it's some squishy bush-like material.

I have seen similar stuff been used by the train people as you describe, but this is from Army Painter so it's definitly ment for miniatures.

I can't really spray anything now cause the stuff is on bases with fully painted miniatures.

Very disappointed by how brittle it becomes once out of the box.

I started by using quite big pieces which could extend slightly beyond the base. In case they break, I'll add new smaller bushes instead which will not extend the base to avoid physical contact with surroundings (either foam during transport/storage or other miniatures/terrain during play).

If you can mask the rest of the model off, you can make a mix of PVA and water 50/50 or 70/30, something like that, with a drop or two of washing up liquid. Then use an eye dropper to get it on the lichen. This should strengthen it somewhat.

In future, if you want it strong, you can spray it with varnish before adding it to the model. Or, if you want to keep it soft, I think, you can soak it in glycerin (florists use it for this). But you might want to do a little research on that, don't take my word for it.
