I'm happy to introduce a new RPG-light, skirmish sized miniature game from Last Bullet Studios called Circle of Blood.

Last Bullet Studios is proud to announce that their first Kickstarter is planned for June 2017. The goal is to translate the rules from Spanish to English and produce six hero miniatures and nine gnolls (monsters) for a starter set.

Players have an opportunity to play three to five models in solo, cooperative, and competitive mode. The different playstyles allow your heroes and brotherhoods to increase in levels and skills as they protect and defend the city of Gormalak from ne'er-do-wells such as thieves, bandits and rogues or venture into the depths below Gormalak, called Infragorma, to fight even more sinister and evil creatures and monsters.

I am attaching some renders of the six hero models and the two brotherhoods that will be available in the starter set.

We will begin exploring and revealing more about Circle of Blood and the inhabitants of Gormalak over the next few weeks through social media, or, visit the website or Spanish Facebook page to see where the game originated and developed from over three years ago.

Please follow us on social media:
Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/LastBulletStudio/
Twitter- https://twitter.com/BloodofGormalak
The web- http://lastbulletgames.com

In addition, we have a Facebook page in our native Spanish for our Spanish speaking friends and communities:
https://www.facebook.com/beholdanarmy/

Please, let us know what you think from our previews, or, from what you can find on our website and Spanish Facebook page.

Thanks,

Can you describe the setting a bit? I'm getting conflicting messages between "medieval" and "pirate". Will there be an option for getting individual miniatures? I don't have time for another game system right now, but I might be interested in picking up some of the miniatures individually.

Hi Soul Samurai,

Thank you for the comments.

The setting revolves around the city of Gormalak, similar to the victorian period but more darker and sinister. Gormalak, formed several centuries before current gameplay, was the host to a council of wizards and mages. The city was lost to time and rumors abound about its past and where it's citizens had gone. However, in current time, the city of Gormalak has once again been found and reinhabited. In the ruins and crumblings of the ancient city, a series of tunnels and open catacombs have been unearthed. This dark setting is called Infragorma, or "Under Gorma." Rogues, vagabonds, thieves and other ne'er-do-wells can be found hiding amongst the ancient parts of the city while more dark and dangerous creatures are coming from within the tunnels and catacombs below.

As heroes come from near and far to defend the city against those ruffians, the dangers from below grow braver and have entered the city proper. As a player, you will defend the city against these threats, playing solo, with a friend, or competitively.

The basic pledge will be around $60 and will come with all six heroes and nine gnoll models. I'll verify your question about individual models and get an answer. I think it's a great idea and a lot of campaigns allow you to pick up individual models for a lower pledge level.

If you get a chance, look at our Facebook page for some art depicting the city.

I hope that helps!

For Monday's preview we have the 3d render for Aleria, Crying Dawn. Aleria is part of the Freedom Pack, one of the playble Brotherhoods in Circle of Blood.

Aleria is an orphan of the Echo Forest, home of the Saien. Feeling her talents were better suited to those of a spiritual nature, she refused to follow the path of the hunter. As a result, as defined by her culture's rules, she was punished and tasked to recover a sacred relic that contains knowledge of an ancient group of warriors called the Ulderians. Aleria soon departed on her impossible mission.
Unknown to Aleria, her sister, Iria, has left the village without permission and followed Aleria along her route. On the last leg of the journey, Aleria, alone, found the relic. However, she was soon ambushed by a gnoll horde. At the last moment, Iria, watching her sister from her vantage point, jumped from above to protect her sister.

She ran with the relic, never looking back, listening to the cries of her sister and those growls of the gnolls. She returned to her people a hero. Despair overtook Aleria and the thought that her sister protected her from certain doom while she ran coursed through her mind.

Aleria found the courage to seek clues to her sister's demise and returned to the location of the gnoll ambush. Only finding her sister's ocarina, she roamed the mountains and wildlands in anguish. She learned to play her sister's ocarina, and one night, while playing a dirge, another melody responded in kind- lonely, and sad. Following the music, she found Elanon, the first of her kind and leader of the Saien. His words comforted her and she learned that both she and her sister for one of the few left alive with the blood of the Ulderians in their veins.

His words told of another relic of the Ulderians, buried beneath the city of Gormalak, lost in the catacombs for centuries. Elanon gave her two options- Stay in the wilderness alone and lost to her people, or seek out the lost weapon of the Ulderians and return once again to her people, a hero.

Join us in June for the Circle of Blood Kickstarter!

Our second preview this week is a 3d render of Leon, part of the Bloody Brigade Brotherhood.

Leon was born to a well-to-do Gormalese family who looked with enthrallment at his birth after receiving his egg as a present. As the main attraction in the house, his happiest days were his younger years as he was coddled, well-fed, nurtured and loved. However, being confined in a cage did not bode well for Leon as he grew to understand that his life was just a trap and cage. Eventually being locked away in his master’s study, he grew aware of the business dealings and darker secrets the more wealthy patrons of the city kept.

One day, Irsine, the housemaid came to clean his cage. She took it upon herself to care for the sauron and brought him gifts of food, told him stories of the outside world and presented him with books, tales of heroic adventure, and riddles. The time the two spent together eventually turned Leon’s fondness to love.

Although Irsine cared for Leon, she did not love him and tenderly refuted his advances. The master of the house, at the moment of Leon’s confession, burst into the room and caught Irsine with Leon. Her punishment was severe. The crack of the whip brought a demon out in Leon and something sinister leaked into his heart. The next day, Leon’s master found the broken cage and the sauron was missing… Looking through the empty cage, Leon, a master of disguise, erupted from his hiding place and jumped upon his former master. Using all of his rage, Leon strangled the man, stole his clothes, and took up the identify of his former master.

Using the power of his new identity and taking advantage of the secrets he knew and learned over the years, Leon has stepped to a higher social position in the city of Gormalak. His peers know of those secrets so do Leon’s bidding. He runs his new family in his master’s old clothes while keeping a close watch on the dark dealings of the Gormalese nobles.

We aplogize for missing our Monday preview, but without any more waste of time, I bring you the 3d render of Nikita Bramonte.

Nikita is part of the Freedom Pack Brotherhood and has gained the trust and respect of Martin and Aleria. The three have grown to become fast friends.

Nikita was the daughter of a famous engineer in Gormalak. Unfortunately, her mother died during childbirth. As her father, Garret, was her sole provider, she spent many a morning and afternoon in his study where she learned to love his teachings on math, physics, and other sciences. Over time, she grew to be a beautiful, intelligent, and tough adult like her father before her. As a prized experiment, she and her father began working on an electric coil generator with hopes that their success would revolutionize the world.

However, that success was doomed to failure. One afternoon she met a young knight named Eksel Bravender and Nikita fell instantly in love- She was young and he was handsome. The two young lovers spent the night together and to impress her new lover and gain his admiration, she showed Eksel the coil generator. Eksel was astonished. The device allowed electricity to flow freely and was like magic unto Eksel. He was perplexed and dumbfounded, but, he knew the device had to be his, and his alone. Later that evening, Nikita’s lover crept into her father’s workshop with a group of bandits and stole the device. However, before making their escape, Garret interposed. During the brief struggle, Garret was knocked unconscious and carried away by one of the bandits.

Awoken by the noise, Nikita rushed to her father’s workshop during the last remnants of the struggle and came unto Eksel like a demon, with teeth and nails in full furry. Although full of anger, Eksel easily defeated Nikita and left her bruised and battered on the floor of the workshop. Eksel then left the workshop with her father and the device, leaving Nikita with some parting words, “I’d never love such a classless woman such as you.” Nikita’s heart broke- with sadness at the loss of her father, the sadness at the loss of the amazing invention, and it broke with the sadness of a cursed lover.

Aleria, Crying Dawn, came across the battered and heart stricken woman a few days later and nursed Nikita back to health. Nikita swore to herself that she would rescue her father and save the invention so callously taken from them.

Please, tell us what you think of the render.

Kicstarter coming June 2017.

Today is Thursday and what do we have in store for you? Our last preview of our heroes! We've unveiled five heroes so far, and our last is the dwarf, Bouldam. Also known as "The Chosen One," Bouldam is part of the Bloody Brigade and is allied with Lonwine and Leon, both of whom we previewed before.

Bouldam was born in the town of Aughrum and never met his parents. He did, however, know his two older brothers who took him in and made him subservient to their wishes- He carried armour, he fetched water and other less savory tasks as asked. As he toiled with the tasks assigned to him, the three brothers travelled the lands of the dwarves, elves, and humans. Although not the master of his brothers, he did learn during his service to them.

As his brothers hunted the known assassin Ronio Bralius, the brothers became the hunted, and Ronio ambushed the trio and Bouldam’s older brothers were slain. Bouldam witnessed it all.
Looking for a servant himself, Ronio took Bouldam and tasked him to serve him or die. Over the coming months, Ronio and Bouldam came fast friends and Bouldam turned from a servant to an equal, learning the fine art of killing from Ronio. Ronio introduced Bouldam to the “Unnamed God” and taught him prayers and rituals, eventually, the god called to Bouldam and Ronio taught him the Ritual of Fire. The final ritual which allows communion with the Unnamed God.

Bouldam heard the call of the Unnamed God and when the first opportunity to perform the ritual came Bouldam took the chance and began chanting. Ronio approached as he thought Bouldam was not skilled enough, but Bouldam completed it flawlessly and heard the call of his new god. Immediately the call manifested from a loud moan into a clear whisper. The call asked for Bouldam’s first victim, “Ronio Bralius.”

Bouldam grew strong and brash. Following his master’s words and taking down many named by the Unammed God. His travels and experiences grew until he traveled to Gormalak where he was tasked by the Unamed God to kill Lonwine Alder. Ambushing the woman one night from a dark alley was his undoing. Lonwine, somehow prepared for the attack, stopped Bouldam’s first few strikes with some defense sword work. Turning her defense into offense, she pushed the dwarf to his knees when something inside him broke- He swore fealty and service to Lonwine- and he forgot the Unnamed God’s task. Bouldam has swore his fealty to Lonwine until her task is complete. Will Bouldam once again hear the call of the Unnamed God once Lonwine’s task is complete? If so, will he take another opportunity to finish his previous task of killing Lonwine Alder?

The Kickstarter comes to you in June!

Hiya Varagon, thanks for the answer.

Personally I think it is a very good game, with very involved mechanics (we call it "the Fantasy Infinity" in our group ). There is an staggering amount of customization, up to the point that there are loads of full RPGs with much less of it.

Not individual models, but groups of three. It will be the "painters" pledge you'll be after. That can change, though, in the next few days if enough people request it.

The kickstarter page looks good, but I think you should include gameplay details in text form as well as the "how to play video" (which I found hard to watch to be honest).

Also, I think you should give a bit more information about what kind of game it is in the introduction:
-Is it a miniatures game or an RPG, or just how far to one side or the other does it go?
-You mention occupations, spells and skills: are these fixed for the characters or can you customize them, or can you even create your own characters?
-What kind of dice does it use? It looks like there's two different types at least?
-Is it campaign-based, with character development that persists from game to game?

Furthermore, I think you might want to include more informations about the contents:
-What are the miniatures made of? Metal, resin? If it's plastic, then what kind? This important to most wargamers and miniature painters.
-Do you need to glue the buildings together or can the be folded flat for storage and transport?
-What kind of paper do the buildings use, is it sturdy enough to place our own metal miniatures on top of the buildings or on that balcony?
-How many buildings are included?
-It looks like the buildings are two parts: the ground level and the rest, so you can "open" them to play inside the ground floor room?
-Are you including any sort of gaming mat? If you're including buildings then a simple mat would be the next logical accessory to set the scene.
-What are the counters and templates made of? Paper, card, acrylic, wood?
-What kind of packing material will be included in the box? Will it be able to hold assembled and painted miniatures for transport and storage?
-The terrain pieces featured in the photos and videos, do you sell them? Is there a pledge option to buy them at the same time? Or else how could players get their hands on them?

You said it's a preview, but it looks live? Can I pledge?

The demonstration miniatures are very nicely painted by the way.

I noticed a small mistake in the third paragraph: "These unalike Adventurers" should probably be "These unlikely adventurers".

Yes, it was a preview link, and the team in Spain went live with it shortly after releasing the preview.

We are over 80% funded, currently, and I'm hoping everyone can join up and pledge with at least the $1 pledge.

Here is our 3rd update:
As we approach the dark city of Gormalak, its menacing silhouette stands out among the trees. The first smoke columns of Circle of Blood rise behind their walls.

Hi everyone!

We are very happy to see that, thanks to your support, we're getting close to our goal's campaign.

Today we'd like to talk you about our Behavioral System. This system offers the opportunity to bring the NPCs to life while playing any of the Missions.

In Circle of Blood, all NPCs have its own Personality: Rational Passive or Aggressive. In addition to having a personality, NPCs can adopt 5 different Objectives: Move, Attack, Defend, Secure Zone and Capture.

In addition to that, we'd like to show you a bit of the whole big map of the city, with its more than 30 neighborhoods and monuments full of mysteries.

We're getting really close to our campaign's Goal and we'd like you to stay with us and wait for the surprises which are still to come!

Thank you to all of you who supported the campaign for Circle of Blood! We just funded a few minutes ago. Over the last couple of days, a free Werewolf mini has been included in the starter to expand your adversaries and the first two stretch goals are free heroes to add to your newly funded starter set! Kicktraq is estimating near $70,000, but I think we can increase that amount. With 24 days left in the campaign, we can blow that estimate out of the water.
